How about a thread where we discuss only the good for the season thus far. What are we pleased with? Who has performed? Who has improved?

For me

Despite scrappy play and being far from our best we are 4-1 with some good players to come in.

Mcveigh has gone up another level i did not think he could

Richards and grundy combo working well

Pyke and mummy working well especially pyke who has gone from strength to strength

Our best players have been young guys parker hanners jack kennedy etc

Rampe looks a good find

Gold logo looks good on the guernsey

Membership is up

What are you all happy with?

Rampe slotting in nicely.
Thankgod we didnt Trade Parker this could be his breakout year.
We are still winning games with a depleted backline and several key players down on output compared to 2012 (Reid, JPK, ROK, Mumford,Goodes, Jetta, Mattner).

Great thread - all of the negativity on this board is becoming tiresome.

Overall, I think the main positive is we are 4-1 despite missing some key players and all of Goodes, Reid, Jetta, Mattner and Mumford down on from.

Between injuries and form issues, there is scope to improve across at least 8-10 spots in our starting 22... that's nearly half the team.

Kieren Jack has been absolutely immense this year, has had no trouble taking on the expectation of being our captain.

Grundy has cut down on his brain fades to a degree, and thankfully took my advice after two weeks of sprays about his fluro boots.

Rohan is getting closer and closer to a return.
We beat North.
We beat St Kilda.
We played like wingless chickens and got within a few goals of the cats.
We have Mitch Morton and Kurt Tippett up our sleeves.
West Coast are 1/4.

I'm very bullish about Malceski's start to the season, the grand final heroics seem to have done wonders for his confidence and he's playing the best football of his career. And at a time when we need it with so many of our defenders down, he's stepped up both defensively and offensively.

Was going to mention Malceski. Playing football worthy of AA squad consideration (a la 2007 & 2010) but what is different now is that he is rock solid defensively.

McVeigh has continued on from a a career best year in 2012 to be our best player this year IMO. Would be leading our B&F right now.

Grundy, Smith consistent down back.

Pyke. Btw, **** off Danny Frawley, saying at one point last night that 'even Mike Pyke is winning the majority of hit outs'. GTFO.

Parker looking like having the break out year he was on his way to having last year.

McVeigh carrying on the form of last year and then some, also is really carrying a few others with him, become a great captain.

Grundy seems to have lifted a gear in AJ's absence, Rampe looks like a valuable find.

Pyke is becoming so much more then a backup/second ruckman.

People are way too harsh on JPK, despite his first quiet game in 2 years against the cats....(maybe he's not quite at last years level in terms of impact) he's still gotten about 28 possesions and a goal in every other game, which is on par with last years averages...despite the fact he's probably getting even more attention now.

Not sure if it's a huge positive right now but.... plenty of underpeforming players, means there's plenty of possible upside.

Jude Bolton does not look like a player at the end of his career just yet, playing well.
Mummy and Pyke smashing guys legally, leaving them dazed and confused.

-We have 10% more in our salary cap because of the CoL allowance.
-We've had a soft start to the season leaving us 'falsely' up the top of the ladder alongside the 'real good' teams.
-The media 'experts' are starting to question how we are travelling because we just crawled over the line against the Saints. 4 wins & 1 loss against the Cats is a worry!
-Essendon will win 12 in a row & then have ALL their points removed & players stood down, Hird & Thompson will be sacked, wiping that reappearing arrogance from their faces again. Just as it was at that historic drug cheating press conference. It seems winning is correlated to memory loss at Bomberland. Cheats!
-Veszpremi can't get a game in a Bulldog's team that only kicked 4 goals............................Everitt can't get a regular game in the reigning p'ship team. We win!
-Jolly is now 4th in line for the ruck job at the Pies, behind Lynch (38 years old),Witt (emergency for the Anzac clash) & Dawes (now at Melbourne).
-Cloke, Pendles & Swan have used up 45% of Collingwood's salary cap. Do we want Thomas next year.....the AFL will help us out.
-TDL & Kossi played for the Saints last night, greatly enhancing our chances of winning.
-Carlton think they are back.
-Richmond think they are top 8 material.
-Dustin Martin runs out of gas after half time.......................make him your super sub Tigers.
-Port are a more professionally run club than Adelaide only 6 months after being labelled as a basket case by the AFL.
-Campbell Heath is having deserved success at Port thus far.
-West Coast are toast. Cheats!
-In 2013, we get to play 17 teams that finished below us last year. Hawthorn only 16.
-We are the only team that has a chance of winning back to back flags.
-We are a great club!

Malceski is in AA form..his kicking has to be up with the best in the AFL, sublime user of the ball.
Rampe is a find, very strong, very handy replacement for AJ.
Lamb and Mitchell are so far injury free, touchwood. If Lamb plays well and Tommy stays fit and dominates, could be a very interesting selection panel meeting.
4-1 after 5 despite us not playing well apart from a quarter here or there.
