There is too much negative energy in all the other threads, our great leader Dalai Kirk would not be impressed. This thread is limited to positive thoughts about the game or the club in general. I'll start:

I was incredibly impressed by Jesse White's mobility today. At times, he reminds me how Buddy moves, with such grace and agility. I think it's time we tried him as our third tall, and bring in Pyke/Currie to be the back-up ruckman. He is never going to be our long-term ruckman, so this would be a step for the future.

Agreed, I actually thought White was really good today, his ruckwork actually looked rather good.

Jack was also quite good today, had a few ripping passages that had Bruce jizzing his pants.

Jolly was a superstar again, as were ROK and Goodes.

Good try grim.
The dalai kirk bit was funny though.
Positive is Halls in melnourne and I can't strangle him.

Was very impressed by White today. He had a good game last time against the Hawks but there was a bit more ruck opposition today and he equipped himself well. His second efforts around ruck contests impressed me, and I think he also laid 5 tackles.

This is a good thread as has been pointed out so many bad vibes over what was not the worst performance.

I want to add Mick O was good today, he set a few shots up on goal with handballs and by bringing the ball down in front of him to ensure others got a shot at it. What Micky does is not always on the stat sheet and were so going to miss him when he's gone.

I have anothe positive.
White is hot when his aggressive.

I didn't see the whole game but thought our tackling intensity was an improvement on previous weeks, a good sign given Goodes' comments during the week about our hardness!

The best positive I can think of is Goodes form :thumbsu: (My gambling is starting to look like a investment)

Our team did not play bad today... we were a bit unlucky in the end..... And the umpires helped them a fair bit... But if we can keep that up... with decent umpiring we will beat most teams....and develop our kids at the same time.

Bird was good today.

White showed signs.

Jolly is awesome.

Goodes is GOD.

Mcveigh is McGod or Mcsexy (haven't decided yet)

And the best news of all... The is no way Monty is going to survive the axe from Roo's next game :D:D (He is a spud of the highest order)

No bonz BRETT KIRK IS GOD

Didn't get to see the whole game, as I was dividing TV time with my Crow's supporting other half, so maybe my comments don't mean much, but I didn't think things looked particularly dire.

We lost a close game, against a side that, while undermanned, still has 4 or 5 of the best players in the competition.

And this close loss was, in large part thanks to an undiscplined free kick that had nothing to do with the side's overall performance.

I did see the entirety of the final quarter, too, where I thought we looked very good.

So I can't say I understand all the negativity. I can't imagine most of these hysterical posts would've been made had we won by 11 points. I thought the baying mob posts from last week were a little over the top, but, this week, I'd say they're completely unjustified.

Yeah, it sucks to lose, but come on.

For mine, I thought Goodes, Kirk, Jude, McVeigh and Jolly all had very good games. Shaw, Richards and Mattner were perfectly fine without being outstanding, and Craig Bolton and LRT seemed to do a decent job on two of the best forwards in the game.

Is that an inaccurate reading? Were the bits of the game I saw unrepresentative of the whole picture?

nooooo I'm not calling mcbaldy sexy. Never!!!!!

Plenty of positives from today's game:

Craig Bird is such a hard worker, never gives up and his skills are always improving
Goodes is in amazing form
Jesse White had a good game, he moves very well
O'Keefe has had a good few weeks and seems to be back in form (back in the midfield!)

What have you been doing up till this time Ash.

The most positive thing to come out of the game is the way the boys kept at it and worked their way back into the game. I agree about White, Bird and Jack. In the next few weeks Vesz will return and we may see Murphy, Johnston (perhaps) and the best of the Ressies. Also we must be looking at a big draft.

OK! Positives out of that game............................mmmm!

That we were playing away, against the previous years premiers, with a team consisting of Buddy, Roughy, Hodge, Lewis, Rioli (injured), Williams, Dew, Sewell, Osbourne etc.......................all their ruckmen.........................basically, they were as full strength as they have been since the GF last year.

Great effort from most of our guys. I'm content enough that with a little bit more pressure put on our senior list by our returning youngsters from injury, then we can still mix it with some of the best in the comp on their turf & the one turf that matters most of all.....................the MCG!!

No excuse for him but Bazza should have received a free kick for holding in 'that' incident that turned the game.

Having cooled down a little from that Bazza incident.................I feel a little sorry for him! I perhaps am thinking, a day after, what would have happened should it have been another player in that situation. What if it was Reiwoldt? I'm thinking that he would have been given a free for holding. End of incident!
That Bazza doesn't get ONE DAMN free kick, means that his patience is tested far more by the umpires & opposition then ANY other player in the comp.
So on a positive slant in this Bazza incident....................THE UMPIRES ARE TO BLAME & NO ONE ELSE! STOP CRUCIFYING BARRY HALL!

But Bazza................................no excuse for what followed!
To take another positive out of this......................Bazza WILL kick butt from now on & get us into the finals.
Brett Kirk & co would have told him that "you owe us Barry"!

Cheers!:)

The positives.... and I AM STRUGGLING!;)

+ve Good hard effort, they stuck to the tried and proven Cortina game plan (Jolly making more claims for AA, J Bolton might scrape in and get a Skilton medal)

+ve Veszpremi can be certain to get a spot HFF when fit and ready

+ve Smith Thornton Barlow Laidlaw will get eventually another chance in 09....maybe even DOK?

+ve Pyke Currie and Orreal and Johnston and Murphy.... will feel very confident about their future as they are the only young talls (DESPERATELY NEEDED) on the list apart from Grundy and White (dveloping nicely )

+ve LRT ought thank the Universe... every night.... that he was born in NSW and was selected by Swans

+ve Ressies will benefit greatly by having Malceski and Buchanan and possibly Moore playing in ACT.

+Ve heaps of salary cap room likely for this years trading period
