The Premiership Standard - 100pts for, 86 pts against

I adjusted it to assume that the AFL average was 93 points per game rather than 80 (which is the actual figure) to get a grasp of who would meet the Premiership Standard this season. Though I think working out who managed to score 7 points more per game and conceded 7 fewer is a better way to understand it rather than adjusting it.
well you side didnt average 100 points in attack in 2022

@abasi
Scoring is down from 2015 so it would make sense that teams score more points and concede fewer. Richmond 17 and WC 18 were both 92 for 74 against on average in their flag years. H&A average score was 89 in 2017 and 83 in 2018. Richmond averaged 101 in the 2017 finals, WC 95 in 2018.

WB 16 were quite a low scoring side overall at 86-73 but they hit form at the right time scoring 99, 107, 89 and 89 in their 4 finals to average 96.

Ross Lyon is gone mate, no need to try and reinvent history to paint his St Kilda and Freo sides as attacking. They weren't, and their scoring dropped off a cliff in finals.
not one side averaged 100 points in attack this season lol

Freo are still 23 points better than their opponents though, so what the big deal if they don't get the magical 100, it's not bloody cricket. The defend well enough to not have to score so much. They will finish top, and win straight through to the GF, once there this sort of stuff won't matter. I'm guessing the argument would be, they can only score 90 against say the Hawks who would probably score over 100, but when was the last time a team scored more than 100 against Freo??
Your thoughts on the 8 teams that made the finals?

The Saints won't get past GWS come finals time, it's pretty hard to hide on the MCG, i still can't believe The Saints have made the Finals, maybe it's just a weak year?
I am Suprised the saints made finals, but in a way I am not. Carlton Finished 5th on 13 wins and a draw.

Dockers finished 14th on 10 wins. So a 3 and half win gap between 5th to 14th.
Extremely weak if Geelong still managed 10 wins
I dont think 12th placed Geelong were weak. Geelong were similar to the 14th placed dockers.

Both teams lost a few close games this season.

Geelong lost to Carlton by 8 points, GWS by 7 points, Draw vs Sydney, Lost to brisbane by 11 points, Dockers by 7 points and magpies by 8 points.

Again... there was like a 3 win gap between 5th placed carlton and 14th placed dockers.
