medicare card can also be found on the app.
This is good to know.

I actually needed my card last week. For some reason BP servos always have trouble accepting my card from my phone. Normally it will work after 4 or 5 goes but no go at all this time.

I heard they are pretty strict these days on people getting out of it for good.

But they are fairly reasonable if you ask to do defer it to a time of the year that suits you better.
Yeah that's what my principal said.

He set up my school from scratch and it was week 1, term 1 (of a brand new school opening) and they said he still had to do it.

Ended up getting out of it in the end, but bloody ridiculous.

I will attempt to defer it.

What would be the day to day activities of a state Govenor?
Not sure about other states but the NSW Governor publishes their daily program on their website:

From what I can tell, their job seems like it’s mostly to give official attention, recognition and support to various groups or individuals who do a lot for the NSW community or government

Presumably it takes a load off cabinet members who can avoid school bake sales and charity auctions

Anyone ever used a "dumbphone"? Would love to try its, but maps and Spotify are too useful I think
I number share across a dumbphone (Light Phone 2) and a smartphone.

I take the dumbphone as much as possible. Realistically I’d find it too much of a hassle to go full dumbphone - maps, banking, authenticator apps, workload monitoring etc are all too hard to replace. But I am a bit of a screen addict and not having it on me all the time has done a lot to improve my social manners and generally reduce my screen time.

It’s not a cheap option to have two phones though (and not all carriers support number sharing)

I checked out the Nokia 8210 while at JBHifi the other day and was very disappointed. They made it fatter and buttons bigger. Its nothing like the one i remember from the early 2000s.

Id like to get a dumb phone, but after srsly thinking about it for a few days i came to my senses. Can always turn the SP off and put it away.

Interesting. Dumb phones getting bigger. Mackers burgers getting smaller

Or the empty shopfront that used to be your local bank branch anyway...

Never considered it, but maybe it's the gen-x curmudgeon coming out in me, but I've never had trouble keeping the smartphone in my pocket when I'm with other humans, or just leaving it at home on the off chance I don't want anyone knowing where I am or went.

So fortunate at least that screen addiction is not something I tend to get burdened with. Even when on my own, I tend to take my Kobo and read a book rather than smartphone doomscrolling

Some might say a kodo is a screen in itself. I’m assuming it’s like a kindle. I have no idea if it is. But saying what some might say to quote oasis.

I don't have a problem keeping it away, it's just the more features that pack into these smartphones the less the battery lasts when you actually need it for something.

Speaking of Kobo, I was looking at the Hisense A5/A9 which are e-ink phones. They support Maps, and supposedly it's pretty easy to root them for Google Play services for banking.

It's 100% a screen. Just an e-ink instead of a smartphone screen so it's easier on the eyes when reading, and you're reading a book rather than twitter

and does anyone have a corded one which has all the features of this cordless version, ie hepa filter, multiple cleaning heads etc etc
