Happens at all of them unfortunately. Disney has a pretty staggering safety record, though. Got told a rumour that Disney Aus put together a business case to buy Dreamworld a few years back that got rejected by Disney International as they believed they safety and maintenance state of the park would cost far too much to bring it in line with their international standards.

I guess everyone knows there are risks at any of these parks but its a bit too real and morbid at Dreamworld now. I have pretty much zero self preservation instinct and love crazy rides and adrenaline stuff but I would go to Dreamworld ever again.

Really? No concern with the morbidity or supporting murderers or your own safety?
I don't consider 4 people dying to be particularly horrific to the point of considering a whole theme park to be morbid.

And as far as I'm aware, it was a freak accident so I wouldn't consider them murderers either

I thought I read Disney have a lot of injuries (non serious) tho. Guess that can be expected at these places tho.

At the water slide in Wallington? I fell off- the tube I was on suddenly slowed right down and complete flipped on it's side- had no time to brace myself and I hit my head pretty ****ing hard. In a bit of shock I think and was in tears later, was lucky I didnt have a concussion.

I love rides too. Cedar Point in Ohio is mad af. Google "The Dragster" I went on that (along with 19 other rides)

I'd go to Dreamworld if they relocated it from the Gold Coast.
I'd go there tomorrow if I was up that way

every single ride would have been meticulously checked and rechecked over the past 2 days

why doesn't Australia have good rides at theme parks. the tower of terror II and superman are the two that would be at the top end of exteme in Australia and are poor in comparison to a lot of other's overseas

Was joking about the murderers thing.

Majority of injuries are from people doing the wrong thing (arms out, etc). Fatality wise considering how many parks they have and how long they've been open for it crazy.

Same question I asked when I was at Movieworld last time. It's the amount of rides too, ie. there just isn't enough imo.

There was talk of one being built down Werribee Zoo way, but nothing came from that isn't going to go ahead.

considering how big Victoria is population wise, I can't believe there isn't a theme park here

(I don't acknowledge luna park as being a proper theme park)

The only real danger on waterslides I can remember is where a fat person gets stuck so you'd get a pile up of people crashing into them.

Yeah we had those same razorblades on waterslides rumours here too.

Something similar to that actually happened to us at a waterslide at Adventure World when we were kids. Some fat woman lost her mat and got stuck about halfway down, it was one of those twisting pipe waterslides, there must have been about 5 or 6 of us kids that slammed into her before weight of numbers eventually got her moving again and then we all went the rest of the way down the slide in a big tangled heap.
