Huh? Are people just raging against Tesla’s for some reason? People against Trump/Musk or something.

It predates Musk's involvement in the election and is predominately related to the 'wokeness' of EVs. Now a lot of those people's god-emperor is besties with Elon I wonder whether it might change?

Unlike a lot of other brands, a Tesla is an EV whereas a Hyundai or Kia might be a normal car... plus Tesla record the ****wits so there's footage of the w***ers.

One thing to think about is most motorhomes are diesel thus requiring a diesel mechanic in case of emergency which may be hard to come by if you have issues in some remote part of the country.

I think it will be right up my alley. I've always had a hard time settling in one spot for too long. Thirteen years where I am now is the longest I have lived anywhere. And as I told a friend last night, "Stick a fork in me. I'm done here".

If you're going to do it, do it properly.

I did it with a trailer Jayco camber.

The petrol usage was insane, budget double what you think is reasonable.
The Jayco was surprising flimsy with a couple of things that kept breaking, turns out they're really just a cheap, starter brand.
I had no space cos you kind of had to use every spare inch for storage.
I was constantly having to replace the "awning storage" cos re-packing it wasn't a one man job, so it would tear. The fewer things you have to do when you set down/pack up, the happier you're going to be.
The main awning was poorly designed so it wouldn't hold up to the slightest rain, and my plan to have an "additional room" when I set down, using the awning and "walls" to enclose it was a dire failure, I never even pulled the "walls" out.
There's a hell of a lot of caravan parks around Australia with toilets and bathrooms that you don't want to use. The more self-contained you are, the more comfortable you'll be. I didn't have a real great shower for about 3 months at one point.

I had lots of fun, caught up with lots of old friends, and put off working for an additional 12 months after COVID. I would do it the trip again, but only if I could afford a proper motor home with a toilet and a bathroom.

It’s honestly a tough choice. Both teaching and Crossfit sound horrifying to me.

We just spent 2 weeks in a 6 berth campervan and I kind of envied the caravan people. I think for 100k you would get a decent caravan if you already have an appropriate car.

Wasn’t as much fun as I hoped but wasn’t terrible either. Would be much more fun as a single person intstead of with a wife and 3 year old.

I wouldn’t mind giving it a go but I would have to drive. The thought of “gramps” driving would gave me jumping from a moving vehicle before we even got out of town
