Who pays for a suit that the groomsman wears at a wedding when they're made to all match. My mate was whinging to me yesterday that it's over a $700 and he was paying for it. I'm glad I'm in a position where no one will ever ask me because of my hatred for weddings, this would only accelerate the hate.

The groom/bride should be paying in that instance, IMO. If they want everyone to match then that is their choice but don't force the cost onto your groomsmen/bridesmaids.

Just wear a white wedding dress. Look at marketplace
In my experience, bride and groom pay if they want a specific dress or suit
The groom.
I paid for my groomsmen's entire outfits.
If they are to be wearing something specific, the cost must be on the groom.

Groom pays, but it all seems so different now - the money some bridal parties are expected to shell out seems obscene

I remember finding out 4 years after being in a bridal party that I was supposed to pay for the suit hire. That was kind of awkward.
I'm not sure I would've agreed to be in it had I know that I was supposed to pay for this wrongly-styled (for the wedding), ill-fitting suit, especially after travelling from interstate and contributing to their money tree (despite thinking they're tacky AF). I'm not one of those people who is fortunate to be able to put on a suit and just have it fit and feel amazing... but I'm certainly one who can put on a suit and feel like total shit.
It's not a feeling or a look I would've willingly paid for. When it's their wedding and their money? Whatever, I'll do whatever you want within reason. It's different if you're asking me to pay to feel like a fat piece of shit though.

I've only been in 2 wedding parties, The last time was about 15 years ago and I paid for the suit.
It was around $450 , I didn't mind paying for it and I returned the favour by forgetting to give a wedding gift..

Also twice in wedding party. Never paid a cent. Never heard of groomsmen paying for their own suits.

All with single 'Best Man', 'Maid of Honour's increasing to 12 witnesses in total (+Church staff/Priests of course)

What is a reasonable age for two children to ride their bikes to school? There's a few small streets to cross but no main roads and it's about a 2km ride in total.
I reckon it's more around the age of the oldest kid, maybe grade 4 onwards?
