The race for the top 4

I will say it again. North can make the top four.

Lose to Geelong, and win the rest (yeah I know, in my wet dream), and I think we will be in.

We might be poor, we might be Norf, but we are a chance.

Def a chance now - I didn't think you would beat the Hawks, and I thought port would roll Essendon, but it could be on now.

FWIW Geelong at Etihad is the type of game I would expect North to win this season.

Results so far have put a huge spanner in the works.
Always happens that teams drop unexpected games, though losing at home twice in a row really hurts Port.

They have Collingwood (Away),Sydney (Home), Gold Coast (Away), Freo (Away) that is a tough run coming up and really I would be nervous about Richmond in Melbourne next week if i were a Port fan.

Call it a knee jerk reaction but i think a long season is starting to tell a toll on a young inexperienced team, maybe they went out too hard too fast and have not left enough for the final turn home.

If Geelong win tomorrow there will be 4 teams on 11 wins. 5 teams if Sydney somehow lose to west coast over there.

If Geelong can somehow beat the Bulldogs by over 400 points, they'll go into second spot by 7.10 tomorrow. ;)

It's not a knee jerk reaction Port entire gameplan is based on run and workrate i would imagine for a young side it has to take its toll eventually.

You need one of the current top 4 to lose two more games than you do to get in, as well as hoping Geelong drop one game more than you.

Odds are against you.

So Geelong played their best footy between round 1-5 then switched off again? :p:D

it wasn't our best though as we had no Motlop, Christensen, Kersten and then lost Caddy to a broken foot. I'm saying that our very best footy needs to have all our midfielders and forwards up and running and then we can start to see us play the kind of footy (some) Geelong people think they will.

Christensen hasn't played for how long tho? i think if you make the 4 you give yourself a *chance* but you need to improve quite a bit to compete against the best sides imo.

If we win tomorrow I'll be a bit more comfortable about things but tomorrow's game is an easy one for us to lose, especially missing Hanners and potentially playing Pyke and Derrickx together if Horse is to be believed

You said Geelong played well rounds 1-5 but during that time, we had multiple injuries to key personnel.

Christensen has now played 2 games by the way.

no, dude. come back to reality

When did we peak? The Freo game in round 2?

NAB challenge your average winning margin was 99 points.

Rounds 1-7 before injuries, average winning margin was 70 points. I would say your best footy has been displayed during this period of time. Whether or not you regain that form is going to be the dilemma from here on in.
