The bloke with the moustache is my dads best friend and my godfather.

I grew up in a house where my dad was a pretty well known local stage actor. Consequently there were some ripping cast parties at my house during my teens. One of my more vivid teenage memories is of a prominant local celebrity smoking bongs in our loungeroom. :thumbsu:
Anne Wills, right??? No, Graeme Goodings!

And he's probably not THAT prominent.

I don't consider anyone a celebrity until they've won a Logie, its like the Michelin Star of ordinary fame.

The Big Warrior was on Wheel of Fortune.

He stood next to a man wearing a very pink shirt, and a lovely woman.

Dad was in the middle.

His first spin in the 1st Round fell on 'Lose a Turn' - devastating.

For the entire 2nd Round he was missed completely.

For the 3rd Round, the woman by his side had her shot and said 'N for Nelly' - BZZZ "There are no N's"

Dad's turn arrived, as he had not been seen for most of the show the host asked him a few questions about his life etc, and finally the big moment arrived. Dad spun up a reasonable figure, and in his most confident and loudest tone "N for Nelly"

lol. Classic television.

The Commodore 64 was and still is the pinnacle of a gaming computer.

Now those were the days. I spent countless hours playing Impossible Mission. Never did quite manage to complete it though.

Loading games from cassette tapes was priceless. Nothing will ever come close to the C64.

Lets face it, the whole point of going on Wheel of Fortune was to say `N for Nelly' on national TV. TBW wins.

Speaking of TV shows I remember coming home from school and watching Monkey Magic and Degrassi Junior High.

TV just isn't what it used to be.

Impossible Mission is like trying to stay away from this thread. 'Stay awhile, stay forever!'.

In other Tarrant family success,

I was on The Book Place twice.

The first time, was teaching kids to whistle. Though, I could not whistle myself. I sat in my class with a bunch of kids and mimicked them and pretended I could whistle.

The second time, was a "One Wish" segment where kids were asked if they could have one wish in their life what would they wish for:

"World Peace"
"No more famine"
"Millions of Dollars"

And more were common answers.

Up popped the Smallest of Warriors with his curly locks, blue eyes and said without a second thought:

"If I had one wish, I would wish forrrrrrrr, A Super Nintendo"

Impossible Mission & Impossible Mission II are still pretty close to my all time favourites. The only ones that come close would be 7th Guest & 11th Hour on the PC and the original Winter Games

Winter and Summer games, so many memories. California games topped them though. Shit, now seriously considering hunting down a C64 on e-bay for myself for christmas. Yeah, played these games on emulators, but its not the same. May have to have an old farts night for those of us who played C64 and Atari's to play these games again.

Whenever anyone mentions cartoon connection I just think about these days 'Agro' would be arrested for sexual harassment. Though with Anne-Marie's arse at face level what hetrosexual guy wouldn't have been tempted?!

I still have my Amiga 500 in storage at my folks place.

Cali Games was good fun, the half pipe and surfing were awesome. But I was a Winter Games (speed skating & bobsled ftw) and Summer Games II (triple jump & cycling ftw). Those Epyx games were the best of that era.

My parents said that they bought me and my brother an Atari, but apparently it got sent to the wrong house.

Never trusted them since...

Greg Rowe, of Storm Boy and Blue Fin fame, was the undisputed king of Space Invaders at my local deli. He was so good he'd clock the machine 10 times before getting bored and walking away.

Amiga rocked - sidewinder, shuffle puck, wonderboy all classics in their own right

I also was on tele when I was younger, an early 90s ABC kids show called 'Couch Potato'
