So avoid football forums because posters may be discussing movies. o_O
I would personally avoid this thread if I hadn't seen Star Wars and didn't want it spoiled, yes. Would assume the other threads would be perfectly fine.

Just like I left very quickly when someone said something about Westworld in here the other day.

I don't agree that I should have to adjust my behavior to make up for other people's poor behavior.
I agree. The argument is whose "at fault" as I don't think I should be limited with what I can say or have to adjust my posting style or ruin the flow of the thread with spoiler tags to cater for someone who hasn't seen it yet. They chose to come in here, it wasn't forced.

Its an interesting conundrum and causes a bunch of issues on lots of internet forums.

There should be some intentional standards developed or something.

It's like very article has "may contain spoilers" and "spoiler alert". People go so ****ing over sensitive about it as well.

I would be so much easier if we just accepted that in this modern age of instantaneous communication, if you don't want information about something, *you* need to be responsible for that and take action to minimise that risk.

How mad can one guy be at spoiler alerts?

It's just a courtesy. How hard is that to grasp?

It does grind my gears I have to admit.

I grasp it, I understand, and will spoiler tag things in here, it just annoys me that people don't take responsibility for their own information consumption.

Its akin to people complaining about offensive things on the TV or about bad language on the radio.

I look at a brief synopsis for most movies I'm interested in but I avoid trailers like the plague

FWIW I'd already seen the movie. Wasn't lying in wait hoping for a trigger, just asked respectfully for Janus to amend their post, which they did. After the hohaa of spoilergate '15 this board had been mindful but there were details within banter that may have slipped through to the keeper. That's all.

What happened?

I may have to revise my movie synopsis browsing in the future if there's no 50/50 split between male and female dominant roles & an equal blend of minority extras forget it.. white guys are completely out especially middle age white guy actors who don't date age appropriately off-screen.

I think you'll be ok:

Male characters received two times the amount of screen time as female characters in 2015 (28.5% compared to 16.0%).

When a film has a male lead, this gender gap is even wider, with male characters appearing on screen nearly three times more often than female characters (34.5% compared to 12.9%).

In films with a female lead, male characters appear about the same amount of time as female characters (24.0% compared to 22.6%). This means that even when women are featured in a leading role, male characters appear on screen just as often.

Yeah but women in X rated movies get way more screen time and the pay gap between women and men is enourmous, so you know it evens out.
and yet I still want less men in those movies too. Nothing worse than a taint interruption.

Go figure.

Po

Finn is the first character we have seen with personality behind the mask of a storm trooper or TFA.

You could argue the clone troopers but nah.[/QUOTE]

Cassian is a ruthless, hard as nails, humourless guy.

Po is a wisecracking, happy, emotional guy.

Not at all similar in personality.

I would really like to see a homosexual Star Wars character that isn't a robot. You know, someone that is actually capable of a physical relationship.

In terms of representation the Gay and Lesbian community is way behind other minorities. Do they even exist in the SW universe?

I mean would it have been the end of the world (so to speak) if Jyn was embracing another woman on the beach in her final moments, or Cassian another man?

Maybe they are both gay, considering there's zero romantic content between them (which I loved)?

Also, the appeal to the Chinese market means no gays, ever.

Who the **** cares about whether someone in a movie is a bloke or a woman?

I'm pretty 'anti token' in movies, I'm not happy with every current blockbuster selling itself out to the Middle East or Chinese markets, but arguing over whether more parts should be allocated to women/not compromise the roles of men, and having it affect how you enjoy the movie? Seriously?

Barry Gibb cancels Australia NZ tour

Barry Gibb has cancelled his tour of Australia and New Zealand, including his Monday-night headline slot at the Byron Bay Bluesfest.

Touring company Live Nation said the former Bee Gee's tour Down Under, set for next April, would not go ahead "due to a change in international commitments".

Live Nation also said it was "currently not possible" to reschedule the performances, so full refunds would be available to ticket holders for the shows.

However, Gibb's cancellation will come as a massive blow to Bluesfest, who recently also lost Friday night headliner Neil Young.

I am utterly devastated at this news - how could Barry Gibb's name even be mentioned in a Blues context??

Hey maybe they are, but there's nothing to suggest that's the case. This is negative proof fallacy stuff.

Maybe Anakin's dad is a German Shepherd that can impregnate people by barking at The Force.
