The "news" - actually gossip and dirt supply services - pay huge amounts for "exclusive" pictures of celebrities and the royals are top of the list. Catching them out, smoking, or looking a tad overweight in swimmers, or even not smiling, is why the paps never leave them alone.

Unlike other “celebrities” They live off the public purse so there is the expectation they be accountable.

Kates PR team needs a bollocking in this instance.
They could have put this to rest right from the start. I’m still of the belief she had a hysterectomy and then the tissue testing they do has found the cancer. Once she had told those important to her, an announcement to the world and a request for privacy for her and the sake of her children would have taken the heat off. Instead they allowed these ridiculous conspiracy theories to grow and grow - plain dumb handling of it all.

In saying that - it would of also made good PR to have “loving” husband Will alongside for support, instead they sent her out alone in the same way thry had her take responsibility for the photoshopped pictures - it still paints the picture that all is not well in the castle.

I thought the story all along has been the fumble of the PR and advisory teams.

I’m told (my wife followed it) that “the palace” informed the media way back in December that Kate was having surgery and would be off duty until after Easter. That really should have been the end of the story, instead the botched photoshop job and other little nuggets from the palace and co. stirred up all sorts of conjecture and contraversy.

Why they didn’t just let her rest and go quiet in socials etc is completely beyond me.

I’ve never really given a toss about the royals - imo they are parasites but I did get sucked into the whole “where’s Kate” because it truly was bizzare.

What I now know is that there are two VERY separate camps
The Kate lovers and the Meghan lovers and how much the Meghan lovers think Kates getting everything and more that she deserves

I also didn’t realise there are people whose sole job is to report on “inside information”

All I can say is, thank god footy is back

The King has personal wealth (as did the Queen) in the form of a property portfolio. There is personal income from various property sources, which is used for their upkeep and support of residents, eg the Duchy of Lancaster. The King supports various members of the royal family (although I think it's been withdrawn from Harry), but doesn't extend to lesser royals many of whom work for a living.
