Meh, and make other businesses millions of dollars - country victoria for instance will get an influx of people for a 4 day long weekend - plenty of money in their coffers.
If i wasnt already on holidays i would be taking the 4 days and going to the murray. A lot of my mates now going away now when they hadnt planned on it for just a 3 day weekend.
I've no idea but these rules predate Albo by decades.
Next time there's a referendum you'll know how to vote then if you want to rid yourself of this sort of thing.rules can be changed easily enough - they pick and choose which ones - 15 days off for politicians was never going to be changed
It's protocol so unless you think the Queen died to spite you it's just the cost of life in a Constitutional Monarchy.
Nobody cares about protocols.
People care about small businesses going under though.
Well except if you're Politicians because thsoe parasites always get paid.
15 days paid to not sit in parliament
but they can shutFor many small businesses paying penalty rates outweighs what sales they may make. So they'll just have to shut.
I mean I get it, Labor doesn't give a * about small business so at least they are being consistent.
Tough enough running one though without taking another financial hit because some old bint that nobody knew carked it.
It's probably cheaper than Qantas at the moment.Whose protocol?
i see today they want world leaders to fly commercial but Albo has flown on a private jet......is that protocol?
but they can shut
if its cheaper for them to not open that's what they will do
then its the staff that get shafted
if they can stay open then they will
I mean I did not once see you talk about workers missing outThats my point.
******* wealthy Political makes decision to screw over small business.
Employees are an integral part of small business.
If they survived covid lockdowns, one day isn't going to kill them.Thats my point.

the only reference to workers was you slagging penalty rates
Aren't you one of those libertarians who doesn't think the government should pay for anything?Penalty rates for a regular Thursday.
Nothing wrong with them for the days they are assigned too.
This made up public holiday isn't one of those days.
If the Government came out and said they'd foot the bill then fine.
But they didn't. All the financial loss has to be footed by the public owners and workers.
but it's not a regular Thursday anymore BostoPenalty rates for a regular Thursday.

One might get told to jam that request up ones arseEven better, get the royal family to foot the bill.
To be fair I think the libertarian stance on this is more one of let me run my business, and if you are going to interfere I want compensation.Aren't you one of those libertarians who doesn't think the government should pay for anything?
but it's not a regular Thursday anymore Bosto
which is why you are complaining
