That's my biggest fear....we should brace ourselves for all the 11 > 10 crap we'll cop from the piss and shit brigade...
it is a one off - Geelong should have had the game wrapped up by half time but kicked badly. I know bad kicking it bad footy but Geelong looked the better side. The Dorks were lucky today but are not the best team this year. They were lucky today.

I reckon we should have some humility. It's obvious they weren't the best side all year, but they were quite clearly the best side on the day - and in the that's all that counts.
Instead of bagging them we should be trying to learn something so we can put to rest close to 3 decades of mediocrity.

Hope our players watched today and realise that you don't have to set a timetable to win a flag.
As for copping it from Hawks fans, I reckon I'll give them a week of indulgence and then my focus switches over to the 2009 season.

I think that's the one of the 2 most important things.
The other one shown again today was that it takes a team to win a final, not just a Buddy the media promotes as the reason for the Hawks success.

Today showed us that midfields win premierships.
Your backline then plays next most important role.
Your forwards are reliant on everybody else so while their influence can be large, they don't win you premierships. Time and time again we see Grand Finals and the winning team only needs key forwards who straighten them up - not to single handedly win the match. Hughes and Riewoldt are good enough to play their role on Grand Final day.
Lowest influence on a match is the rucks.
Therefore:

Pick 8 should be on a midfielder.
Pick 24 or so should be on a midfielder.

I'm glad they won, proves that some good forward planning and self belief can allow you to climb from the bottom to one of the best teams in the competition.
