I am still not convinced that throwing 5 picks inside the top 25 for 2 inside the first three picks is the best move.

Pick 25 is usually a pretty damn good player, read Matt Crouch. 5 players inside 25 is huge for Adelaide.

Pick 2 and 3 is also unheard of, but what if 1 does a knee or turns out like Brad Crouch, you are then left with 1 top flight player rather than 5 very good players

What if all 5 players do a knee?

Really though premierships are won by elite players. 2 and 3 would give us two with the talent to do so which 5 picks later potentially wouldn't.

If both 2 and 3 are permanently injured, that would go into the right idea, shit happens basket. You move on quickly because no one with half a brain is going to begrudge a move that was designed to strengthen the elite core of a side.

Good to very good players are interchangable and can be obtained at anytime. A large portion of that is structures after all.

You really come across on this board as someone that has zero social skills, maybe a little booksmart, but just scream 'loser'.

This all means too much to you, scoring points on here, it's sad.

Sorry mate, but people who actually have mates just don't talk like you talk, they get brought back to earth by their friends and talk with humility.

Funny isn’t it how the incels like to give advice :)

Now you have me interested.

So do you see him as soley a backup to Sauce or as a Jenkins type player? Except swap the ruck and forward capabilities of Jenkins, crap ok so not like Jenkins at all but a ruck/forward.

There is not a better ruckman in the comp than Zac Smith, talent wise

He is A++++++ talent

The challenge, which 2 clubs have given up on, is getting his best consistently

If we can get that he’ll leave sauce in his dust, but if it were that simple then he’s cost a top 5 pick

'Dig up, mate'.

It's been a few years since I mentioned here Troy Menzel was definitely coming. A few months since I mentioned McGovern wasn't happy with injury management at the AFC. Sorry I can't update you daily on the goings on at the AFC. I just don't have an ongoing source there.

Some of us come across this sort of info as we actually have lives and socialise in the real world. It's not just this ongoing thing. I tried to throw you a bone earlier trying to encourage you, as I felt bad for you, but **** you make it really hard.

Cause he can’t break a tag, he was asking for too much, for too long. I don’t believe we are going to win a flag in the short term, but we have a good list beyond our guys that are 30 and over. So I would have done the mini rebuild and gone again.
Losing Sloane isnt just losing a player, its losing the man. If theres one guy we couldnt afford to lose it was him.

800K for a person the calibre of Rory Sloane is not an issue. Also, he got tagged every week of his return this year and no one stopped him.

Would have been monumentally stupid to let him go

That isn't quite true. And this was discussed on a couple of threads through the week. Quite a bit of noise about him potentially making a comeback next year, but he was never squeezed out due to salary cap. His foot was in a bad way, to the point where retiring made a lot of sense. Now with 12 months off maybe he feels like he can go again. GWS would still have to rookie draft him.
Still Mumford at 33 yo after 12 months off ....I'd be saying a NO to that if I'm GWS

On Zac Smith

At the right price I would jump.at the opportunity to bring in Zac Smith

Smith has talent however has lacked consistency throughout his career, in 2017 he finished 8th in Grelongs B&F and then went on to struggled to make the team in 2018

I also recall Smith towelling up Sauce in a game on the GC when he was playing against the Suns and again in 2017 at Skilled when playing for the Cats

I'm very confident in that Smith still can be a top line ruck however unlocking his consistency is the key, he definitely has the talent

Smith will be 29 next year. IMO, we should be looking at long-term ruck fixes

Sauce is going to be remembered as a mediocre ruckman. I can feel it.
Couldn't disagree more. He will be remembered as a very good AFL ruckman - 3 time AA squad member. Most Hit Outs in the AFL in 2012 & 2017. You don't judge players on their twilight years.

Remember when they signed Lobbe for 4 years, then spent the next few years trying to offload him. Five years sounds extreme, but perhaps they think he'll take over as 1st ruck after Ryder retires.
Remember when they signed up Hartlett for 5 years and then tried to offload him only no one wanted him?
Remember when they signed up Wingard on big dollars and then tried to off load him only....
Remember when they signed up Rockliff for 5 years and then tried....

Smart they are not
