The story I heard with Lycett is that the coaches wanted him to play forward against GWS to combat that Davis-Haynes markathon but Lycett refused.

Wines is irreplaceable. He is the spiritual co leader of the club and a beacon to our future. No combination of mere draft picks and champion players can adequately replace his intangible qualities...just take him and give us something back, so we can afford to pay off ken and get rid of the co captaincy thingy. Actually it looks like we will are giving away spp for a packet of chips instead coz ken only likes nice vic country boys.

Slyce, Port Junior, clearly passionate club man in general comes home to find his once beloved club is Kern Hinkleys finishing school for footballers who want to read good.

Wins vs losses, consistent desire, a forward line structure of any type and finally the historical traditions the place was built on all paled into comparison with making sure everyone at Port are good blokes, someone has to lose and man this is a tough comp are the institutionalised norms

Hinkley does his already down trodden reputation more harm whichever reason he had for dropping Lycett

- drops Lycett because he feels Ryder is a better ruckman. That’s just dumb, and no other AFL coach would make that call
- drops Lycett out of vindictiveness for Lycett telling him some home truths. The right reaction is to take on board the advice of a premiership winning player

Yeah, I mean we have Wines whose worst disposal of any inside mid in the league, Boak and Rockliff near the end and Ebert whose eyesight makes stormtroopers look like Army snipers. Obviously the youngest of them all is the one to get rid of!

It's almost an achievement that we can take AFL ready players like him and Wines and make them worse over their time with us.
Remember Ollie against freo in 2014. Remember SPP in his first game against the swans
We should have left Ollie in echuca and sent a speedboat down the Murray to pick him up the night before the game. Obviously whoever coached them before they got to us has a better idea of how to develop players

We traded out Wingard, Polec and Pittard who were on healthy salaries.

Wines, Ryder, Amon, SPP, Sam Gray and Broadbent could all leave the club this year too. Also the media are bringing up Lycetts name too.

I think last word from C4 was that jack would have come here last year if a trade could be done he will be going elsewhere this year.

I’m happy about that. Good injury prone player who will cost a bit when we need players in the 18-23 range drafted now.
