He was THE young right winger in the world a few yrs ago (before Ronaldo broke out), most big clubs were keen to get him. Apparently Madrid, Man Utd, Chelsea have all wanted him at some stage. Surprised Rafa didn't bring him over to Liverpool as part of his Spanish revolution. Will always be a question mark with overseas wingers adapting to the physical nature of the EPL, but if he can cope with that aspect of the league then he should flourish. To be frank i dont see why he would move to Everton.

Hey guess what.. F-u!:thumbsd: :D

Carson should be going to Villa after the asking price was dropped to 6m. Added to the 1.75m worth of loan fees from Villa this season (or so they say).

Rumour is Kewell to Pompey on 50K a week wages :D

Nah we haven't. Its just heavily linked. Now we are linked to Alou Diarra of Bordeaux. Also, Lee Carsley has officially left Everton to go to Birmingham (Not confirmed at Birmingham, but they are the only ones that I know to have offered him a contract and thats where he "comes from")

Apparently the Diarra bid is linked to Carsley and Carsley was only going to leave if Diarra could be bought... interesting to see what happens. Defensive midfielder Diarra (8 mill pounds)

Haha your not upset that you would be signing a player who was previously at Liverpool? ;)

Garay to Real for 11m Euros it seems.

Well 10m up front, then another 1m the following year.

Amazingly cheap.

Lee Carsley agrees to sign for Birmingham City
May 19 2008
1355 BST

LEE Carsley is returning to his Birmingham roots after agreeing to sign for Blues on a Bosman free transfer from Everton.

The 34-year-old, who was raised in Sheldon, is to join on July 1, a day after his Everton contract expires.

Carsley, who met with Blues boss Alex McLeish for talks at the weekend, rejected a new 12-month deal at Goodison Park and snubbed Derby County in favour of a two-year, £25,000-a-week agreement at Blues.

The switch carries obvious appeal apart from the security aspect as he still lives in the area and several members of his family are Blues supporters.

Everton boss David Moyes paid tribute to Carsley's contribution after confirming that he was leaving.

“I would like to thank Lee for his years at Everton," said Moyes. "He has undoubtedly been a big part in our success in the last few seasons.

“Lee feels he now needs to be closer to his family and everyone at the club fully appreciates that.

“We’d like to thank him, he has been a fantastic player on and off the field and he goes with my best wishes, and we wish him all the best in the future.”

The former Republic of Ireland international was one of the few remaining players left from the squad Moyes inherited from Walter Smith in 2002.

He was included in the starting line-up for Moyes’ first game at the helm against Fulham in March 2002 and has amassed 198 appearances for the Toffees - 194 of which were under Moyes.

Last season he made 34 Premier League appearances and was singled out for praise by his more celebrated team mates for the job he did.

Carsley cost Everton just under £2 million from Coventry City. He also had spells at Blackburn Rovers and Derby, his first club.

He became a key figure in Moyes side, sitting in a withdrawn midfield role, as Everton secured a fourth-place finish and Champions League football.

In November, a blistering drive from 25 yards in the third minute of stoppage-time sank Blues at Goodison Park. Everton added another 30 seconds later to make it 3-1.

McLeish is keen to rejig his Blues team with more quality and players possessing strong leadership credentials as they plot to bounce back from relegation to the Championship at the first attempt.

Carsley's pedigree and hard-nosed approach fits such a bill and supporters have already indicated that they would welcome his addition.

I read something earlier in the year, apparently his brother is a big Brum supporter, and most of the family too.

I laugh at the "close to his family" thing. Must be an hour or so drive between Birmingham and Liverpool, half the scousers (from both teams) either live in Greater Manchester or around Warrington so it would be even closer still.

Nah, from blue scousers to red scousers.

Also Nicky Barmby, can't think of any more in recent times (apart from Owen, Fowler, Carragher etc in terms of who they supported).

Same thing, isn't it?

An average squad player moving between rival clubs is a nothing story; I wouldn't bat an eyelid if Tottenham signed Senderos. We don't exactly get many Sol Campbell's happening though.

Looks like we have signed Ezequiel Garay. For those of you who dont follow la liga he is a 21yo CB from Argentina. Played very well for Racing Santander in his 3 seasons there and can also scored goals. (9 in 06/07 season)

Amauri to Juventus seems done.
Juve to pay Palermo €12 million , Antonio Nocerino in full ownership to Palermo and have co-ownership of striker Davide Lanzafame.

anyone here got info on what Samuel Eto'o is planning on doing, would really like to see him playing for tottenham :)
Had a chat to him last night on MSN (darkchocolatemeltstheladies@hotmail.com) and he reckons that he's certain to sign for Tottenham if I lend him my PS3 w/ PES08 for the next two weeks. And he'll bring it back to me when he comes on his annual holiday to Adelaide for four weeks. (his whole seasons break)

I've told him that I'll only send him the playstation if he sends me the test tube of Duchovny's sweat he bought the other day off E-Bay.

He's told me that he needs to think about it. Although the signs aren't good. Shortly after that he changed his MSN name to 'Big Long Sam says Creed loves big dirty sweaty men'.

To answer your post again;

His destination is uncertain.

What has changed though is that it's now probable he'll be leaving.

Tottenham are in with a chance. I still wouldn't discount Arsenal, Liverpool obviously and with Drogba likely leaving there's a nice, sexy open for business sign hanging at Stamford Bridge. Manchester United haven't been linked but who really knows? He's similar to Saha (as in the type of striker he is - not quality) and we know that when fit Ferguson likes playing Saha alongside Rooney/Tevez. I can't see how Manchester United wouldn't at minimum take a look.

As for outside England. It won't be to another club in Spain and the only two Italian clubs who he could realistically sign for are AC Milan and Inter.
AC Milan aren't in the Champions League next season and Inter have a few decent strikers already. Although he'd be perfect alongside Ibrahimovic. And they'd know this.

So really it's one of five in England or Inter. (if he leaves)

Nowhere else.
