VFL VFL Premiership

Most of the good teams in the last decade have had great VFL success. Box Hill and Geelong are two that come to mind.

I know it's not the goal coming into a season, but VFL success can't hurt the young kids moving forward.

I think we are in a great position to take it out, most blokes have played a handful of VFL games this year because of injury or form.

Hopefully we can sneak into the 4

The VFL really is nothing more than a development comp. The salary cap prevents teams from attracting quality players and ensures that the quality of the footy is average.

Injuries kill our VFL teams top 4 chances each year, our VFL list (the add on players) just isn't deeply talented enough to cover the loss of senior AFL listed players to injuries.

If we have a good injury run on the run in, with 5 of our last 6 games at home (3 at Vic Park, 1 at MCG, 1 more at VP or MCG) we might be able to sneak into 4th.

The problem is Box Hill, Williamstown and Footscray seem to be so strong that even on our best day we'd struggle to beat them at any other ground but Vic Park.

I'm happy for the VFL side to play a final or two each year, we treat it more as a development program then some other clubs seem to.

Might not be any "letting" about it. They are terrible this year, much like their affiliate.

It's a good point. I suppose it's a question of priorities. Do we make the coach's ability to stare down Robbo, the top priority of the club?.... or should we focus on a VFL premiership this season? Some people might even think that we should continue to focus on the AFL side of things, although there's not too many who hold such a view.

Can someone please confirm how many afl listed players currently would qualify for a VFL final.

Guys like greenwood have played there but not enough games I don't think. Also not sure about broomhead who will be close to returning with his shoulder. Also wonder if freeman can sneak a few games late.

If we have Kennedy, Dwyer and broomhead in the midfield we could press for a flag. Add young, Armstrong, Moore, Gault, marsh, karnezis, scharenberg and Ben Reid and we have a fine team there.

We already Beaten Box Hill and Footscray this Season. Though it be played at Port Melborune unless we have the 1st Final at Vic Park like last year

It honestly is such a shit stadium for AFL.
