Oh look, Murdoch playing a different position again!

How could we not play all of Mitch Brown, McCartin, Membrey and White 2 weeks ago as it was too many tall forwards... but this week they have named Brown, McCartin, Simpkin and White? Tommy is less mobile than Membrey!
There is no way they'll play like that - 4 talls, Saad and a mid!

Sam Gilbert's latest scans:

Interesting point for discussion with Lee this week, named at Full Back. Some have called for him to come into the seniors against Kennedy, and others have argued that that would be too much of a test for him, given he's still developing as a backman. Well, this week, he'll be up against Sam Grimley - Grimley (199cm, 96kg) won the VFL equivalent of the Coleman last year. Lee is going to be up against his biggest test so far, this week.

Also, the Sam Crocker named in the Hawks team is the one that used to play for us. Seems he's coming good as a VFL player. Highly rated at Box Hill.

He was actually amazing in a NAB game and I ear marked him as a future gun. He was a disappointment as he seemed to have some great ability but never showed it on a consistent basis. He looked like a kid still by the time he left Sandy. Some just are slow to develop.

I still reckon he's only going to ever be a Sam Fisher replacement as his build doesn't suit the gorillas. Goddard would be the better option for the hulks as he is lanky yet solid. Very competitive too.

So we've got no one playing on the back flank of the development squad? The box hill forward flanker will have a field day...
thats better than just naming any pers(s)on on the devs IC

I guess the difference is that if he played in the AFL and got destroyed then Saints fans would be screaming about how bad he is, while the VFL gets less attention.

Structurally Ross would be a huge addition to our current midfield as we're 17th for clearances I think and he well and truly does his best work on the inside and is a lot more midfield ready than the likes of Sinclair and Lonie, who have been spending time in there because Ross isn't there. Will also allow someone like Schneider to go back to his usual forward/wing type roles where he will hopefully be able to hit the scoreboard more.

Agree, Ross would help us in the clearances.

My issue with Ross is he often drifts in and out of games and doesn't find enough of the footy.

By all reports he got a lot fitter over the pre-season and hopefully improved in this regard.

Averaged around 3 clearances and 16 touches last season. Need him to lift that to 20-5 I think.

I remember how good he was against the Cats in a massive loss last season. Think it's been his best game for us. 28 touches that day.

He doesn't have any attributes that are really outstanding but he is solid in all attributes and could become a good midfield rotation.

He was a nice kid.

Probably only weighed 65kg when on the list.

Injured a lot from memory, seem to recall elbow or shoulder recurring injury.

Good or him, had good kicking skills I think?

Predicting Curren and Minchington to get +30 possessions and +5 clearances each. Also predicting Ross will still be picked in the guts of the AFL team before them anyway.
