A battle with finals implications as the Tigers(9th) play the Giants(7th) at Giants Stadium in what will be a double header before the AFL game at 1.10pm

Tigers welcome back Tom Brown for his first game for the season after a long term wrist injury. We also welcome Matt Coulthard into the Tigers line up after being picked up in the MSD on Wednesday night. From a VFL list perspective Mykelti Lefau makes his return after tearing his ACL in May last year, while MSD hopefuls Mutaz El Nour and Luke Teal will be hoping to build on solid seasons so far and keep their names in the minds of recruiters.

The game should be broadcast through the AFL website for those looking at something to watch over Sunday morning breakfast or in TigerImposter case between readings from the bible at church.

Coulthard CHF and he’s tiny small
Trezise who has been in defence, but last week went to his natural position in FL
Bauer BP again like Trezise
Miller FP should be FF or CHF
Biggy in Ruck bc of no ruck so fair enough
Brown CHB
and so on.

Brown in back line / Coulthard in forward line are not going line up on KPPs In the tradition of naming Shedda at CHF but they won't play those positions.
Miller as a forward will play CHF or FF so won't be out of position
Trezise looks pretty natural on the HBF. Especially when he had 29 possessions against Geelong in the back line.
IMO Bauer looks better behind the ball. Long-term replacement for Grimes.

Yeah I understand all that, but it’s weird how we draft players for a specific role and they end up being something else.

Thats because we found out there are no good for the reason we picked them and try to make it work lol

Classic example was Todd Elton. Wrangled an extra contract extension because we though he might be better down back based on a performance in 1 practise match.

it's what we've tended to do in the AFL as well (in terms of the list sheet)

you'll notice that we'd always have lunch, jr8, +1 which is normally dusty i think on the FF line, and then have the smalls/players who get up the ground more on the HF line. ditto for the backline with the KPPs being on the FB line

this weekend's game:

2019:

we did it with our KPPs being on the FB line even back in 2017, but for the few games we played todd elton early on he was listed at CHF(yep that's right, we played todd elton in a premiership year, totally blanked that)

it obviously means * all as certain players will go to their given match-up, but i assume we do that because that's how we generally set up with our zone

but if you're talking about why trez and bauer are in the backline and not fwd, i agree with you on bauer, idk enough about trez, would like miller in defence but he has to back up ruck so makes sense he's fwd

As far as Richmond are concerned the traditional positions of FB, CHB, CHF & FF are non existent, they're either KPD or KPF, similarly we don't have BP, HBF, HFF, & FP, they're either small/medium defenders/forwards. The only traditional on field positions we use are wing & ruck as our centre square mids rotate between centre ruck rover and rover. It's all to do with our structures
