in his defense, apparently he wanted to play.
Wouldn't the people working with him in the Adelaide nets be the same people who helped screw up his action?
Apparently this was Neilsen's decision.
if this backfires it could be a long time between drinks for him
Apparently this was Neilsen's decision.
Indeed, With the profile of this series and johnson creeping towards 30 i would say this has gone from being a speedbump to do or die for johnson.
If he had gone away and worked at domestic level he could have made a comeback next season but by gambling on him now they are basically risking his whole career, failure in the next couple of tests would surely end his test career.
they rest him more than they play him. if he wants to play this next test. i will say this to him. mitch don't listen to a word troy cooley says. he will be the downfall of your career. just go out and bowl fast
Nielsen has said that Johnson has the potential to be the Aussies Ashes saviour. Am I missing something, or is this the same freaking bowler who bowled 0/170 odd just over a week ago and hasn't done ANYTHING since? I'm completely staggered, what a joke Nielson and co are, do they have a set of brains between them?
Apparently this was Neilsen's decision.
They showed him on Fox Sports News bowling in the nets at a local ground with Lillee and Cooley advising.
It wouldn't surprise me.
Mitchell Johnson needs to bowl a lot, so they would rest him.
I hope Cooley bucks the trend and actually has a positive effect on him because as far as I have seen, he appears to be helping a talented player become a thorough going plodder.
