Pick 4?

Pigs Arse!!!!!!

And Koby Stevens

no dont think so !

Quite a funny thread this Wells thread has turned into a genealogy lesson on our West Coast players ... I'm sure Striijk is Dutch ala Vanderhar / that Essendon player anyway .

I hope we get Wells , somehow cheaper then pick 4 but his game on Saturday was very good :(!

I'd like him but not for pick 4.

2nd rounder plus McKinely

Take it or leave it Norths, PSD pick 1 is ours this year.:o:confused:

Koby Stevens is aboriginal, Kerr is British/Indian/Australian.

Irrelevant anyway, Wells wouldn't refuse West Coast because he's from Kwinana.

Wells would just be pleased that someone from the big smoke in perth would accept someone from the frankston of W.A

Potentialy a second rounder, not a hope in hell will it be a first round pick.

Freo's first round might be closer to the mark..

Not a hope in hell it'll be a first round pick, but freo willing to trade theirs.
Yep, makes sense. Freo are the kings of paying over the odds.

Iv got to agree with sabre in that he's saying he's not worth a pick 4 but around 20-30 mark. I'm deffinatley not a fan of giving up a pick 4 for wells but I'm curious to know from a few of the older big footy ploggers what the general consensious on this board was when we gave away our first round picks for chick and stenglin. Because as it ended up that was the right decision IMO. Was it a similar backlash on here back then as it is now with wells.

It's always the case. BF prefers the dream of a pick becoming the next Gary Ablett rather than the reality of it more likely being the next Nathan Ablett (disclaimer: examples selected for symmetry. I don't care if you rated Nathan Ablett.).

As a result, trading for a known quantity is always viewed as wrong unless you're paying very much under the odds. Given it's almost always impossible to "prove" a decision right or wrong in retrospect, as there's always some star picked up late in the draft after the pick that was traded, people can rant against the trade in the comfort of knowing they'll be able to defend their position regardless of the outcome.

Hes worth between pick 10-20 mainly because of his stuffed groins, otherwise he would be worth more.

Eagles should look at offloading Mitch Brown to Carlton for there first rounder. Good player but we have 4 young tall KPPs with Glass back next year and its just not a need for us. Mitch Brown for Pick 15ish ontraded for Wells would be fair.

We have a mess of cap room so could pay Wells a big wad of cash.

..Why would you do that!?

To bring the PSD threat into play? Don't know if Wells is contracted or not, but dangling a lot of money in front of Wells' nose to get him to commit to the WCE would mean it's WCE's second round pick or nothing. Usual trade gambit.

Yes, because this happens so often.

The mooted trade would make little sense for either side.

Bradshaw, McPhee and McDonald walked last year.

Two of those have careers the equal of Wells.

Personally I'm not sure I'd want him for free. We are pretty rubbish at the moment and adding an inconsistent midfielder to the rotation doesn't make sense.

is this some sort of joke pick 4 for wells if the eagles made that trade it would almost be the final straw with me.how many times have we seen him play one good game and get the commentators and the north fans all excited about finally seeing the true potential of daniel wells and then he goes missing for games at a time.when he looks good i can see the appeal and to snare him for a later draft pick and one of the deadwood players we need to clear out would be alright but for me he would have to be the most overrated player i have seen for ages

If he could stay on the park (a big if) he is exactly the type of player WC need. He could play an outside running game and with his flair he could excel with the inside mids which WC have plenty of doing the heavy lifting. He has been asked to do it all at North and has not been up to doign that with any consistency. Make him a receiver and let him use his pace and skill to take apart the opposition.

I think you will find Western Sydney have the first 5 PSD picks.

I think you'll find we have the first five rookie draft picks.

Edit: Western Sydney "we", not Brisbane "we".

Um...can we trade Carey back to the Roos and claim Wells as we should have all those years ago with the draft pick we gave away?

Wells would be a handy addition to any team but surely wouldn't be the abolsute catalyst to make a good team a much stronger contender. I actually do think the Crows would probably get the most benefit from him, as we need that outside runner with pace and some flair, but what would the price be for a guy who is as inconsistent as he is?

Just as an outside observer, I can't see how he would make West Coast a dramatically improved list given needs and shortfalls.

How could Wells not help. As Quigley has stated: WC have a plethora of inside midfielders. WC are in desperate need of outside types to compliment our inside brigade. Wells fits the bill, but is very over priced at wanting WC's pick 4.
