Lees should be a good player and in fact hes one reason why Watter should be kept and supported by StKilda, but bottom line is that he really is a direct replacement for Tom Lynch.
Adelaide traded Lee for a profit (pick 60 up to pick 12) and StKilda traded Lynch for a loss (pick 13 down to pick 24).
PIcking up Lee is not a win whichever way you cut it. Break even at best. Lynch had a great year at the Crows.
they were the biggest spending WAFL club while he was there, weren't they?lol at people thinking Watters' dominance at Subiaco is a massive achievement, Brendan Fevola could've coached that side to 3 flags.

Scott Waters spent 3 years coaching Subiaco to 3 premierships in a row I believe. He then went to Collingwood under Malthouse for 2 years as assistant including winning the premiership in 2010. This guy knows football and how to coach winning teams. As Malthouse is proving yet again. It doesn't matter how good the coach is. If you don't have the cattle you can't win premierships. St Kilda do not have the cattle. Everyone knows it and to respond by sacking this coach would be the height of stupidity but possibly typical of the governance problems that exist at Saint Kilda.
Watters can no doubt see all this and is demanding the club grow the F*** up. They are not going to achieve anything by getting rid of a quality coach like Watters. Wake up and smell the roses Saints!
I always felt he was extremely lucky with both those clubs. Subiaco was an absolutely dominant force in the WAFL at that time. They recruited whoever they pleased and probably had a reserves team that would've made league finals. Peter German was a large part of the development of that squad, and just as things were about to pay off he moved to the Dockers.
Watters was a poor media performer with an agenda against the Eagles. He was unprofessional and didn't offer any insight. He was coaching Subiaco colts at the time and was fortunate enough to get that promotion to league.
Similar story at Collingwood where the team had been on the up for a couple of years and was primed to win a flag. He wasn't there for the hard yards. The Saints hired him when there were no other decent choices available.
He's made some pretty poor statements to the media in his time at the Saints. First by besmirching Ross Lyon's achievements, and then by claiming to be on the verge of some sort of dynasty. I'm not surprised he and Pelchen don't see eye-to-eye. Pelchen might be a karmichael, but he does know how to build a list. Watters should be doing talkback on 6PR, but has somehow ended up coaching an AFL club.
Watters was a poor media performer with an agenda against the Eagles. He was unprofessional and didn't offer any insight
then by claiming to be on the verge of some sort of dynasty
Here is my theory about what is happening:
- Andrew Thompson and the New President have installed a full review of the football department
- Pelchen is going for a full rebuild
- Watters is concerned for his job as the results for this year were shit and he is having issues with Pelchen over players to select (watters wants some more mature players to improve results and project an improvement image)
- Watters is changing how the players culture is like (a remnant form the Grant Thomas age where he was slack on discipline) and wants to get the club to forget the past (which has made senior players shitty)
- CEO resigned due to KPI's at the club being bad and he has been in the Job for a while and the club feels like that we need to start a new era
they were the biggest spending WAFL club while he was there, weren't they?
dunno, that's why I was asking.you mean like swan districts rorting the cap during their premiership year and the WAFL doing nothing?
or do you mean like the WAFL helping souths stock their team full of current of past AFL talent to try and end the lions run?
dunno, that's why I was asking.
How would you know? I seriously doubt youd know a thing about players from any other club other than your theory of not Collingwood there no good.
Who is this? What is your membership number?
for the first time since baldock took the bring em up in the u19s days
scott waters has finally bitten the bullet and started dragging the club into the present, and how do saints fans reward him pppffffffttt.no wonder the club has gone nowhere for 90 years.
hardest core softies ive ever come across.no idea how hes trying to rejig the list for future finals chances.if they sack him now they may as well shut down the club
Judging by your posting history and the posting history of your other troll accounts, I doubt you have any other knowledge than that of Collingwood as that is all youtrollpost about
LOL you sound bitter
to be fair the list was already there for peter german as well. lets remember subi was consistently playing finals for over a decade. so this idea that peter german built the list, watters came in and benefited from it, just doesnt hold water
scott was also the colts coach and helped pull them off the bottom of the ladder. our colts have traditionally been poor, mainly due to the shite zones.
ROFL what agenda is that? got some examples?
its surprising how much this comes up. he didnt say we were on the verge of a dynasty at all. not even close to that. he said he wanted st kilda to become a juggernaut.
Tom Lee looks a much better prospect than Tom Lynch. Yes Lynch has been decent at the Crows but Lee looks to have significantly more ability.
Massive bender last night Timmy?Lees should be a good player and in fact hes one reason why Watter should be kept and supported by StKilda, but bottom line is that he really is a direct replacement for Tom Lynch.

Lets also remrmber Lynch beat up on GWS and Nick Maxwell lets not go to iver board on his ability.
18 of Lynch's 22 possies against the Pies were marked down as uncontested, are you sure he had an opponent?
