Geelong have had a few too:

Gary and Nathan Ablett
Spiro and Tony Malakellis
Damian and Tim Bourke
Jason and Cameron Mooney
Travis and Adam Varcoe (don't know if Adam counts, since he was on our rookie list. I'm sure they played a practice match together though)

Billy, Matt & Charlie Goggin
Michael & Nigel Kol

Getting players to swap their normal jumper number to confuse the opposition

Bill Goggin - when coaching Footscray in the 1970s in a game against Essendon at Windy Hill - got some of his younger players ( Geoff Jennings was one of them) to swap jumper numbers to confuse Essendon- and confuse them he did - Footscray won by an amazing 100 points

The VFL outlawed ( wrong jumper numbers) it - after that game

Yeah Melbourne would have won 6 straight from 55-60 but Collingwood beat us in the GF in 1958 to stop us from breaking the 'four in a row' record (under much tougher rules than Collingwood faced when they won four straight).

Kudos to the pies though, I highly doubt anyone is coming close to winning four straight again.

Anyone think its possible to beat Ron Barrassi's record of being player or coach in ten seperate premierships?
Sydney? :p

I think Hawthorn holds the records for most behinds in a game - 41. Don't see that being broken any time soon
Sydney could give it a shake with Tippett and Franklin. Especially if Jetta goes backto pre-1st goal form.

As relevant as any other.

I can see why they'd be relevant to Victorians, it's their state football history, but in the context of a national competition, not so much. There's a reason why it's not called the VFL anymore.

And it has nothing to do with wiping out the history of the league.

I think it'll be hardest to beat Lloyd's 926. Fletcher's games record will fall when Harvey plays one more season than him, then some other iron man will come along and have a stupid long career.

Lockett's 16.0 game score record will be tough to beat, although Franklin and LeCras have got close in recent seasons. Likewise Dunstall's 145 in a season.

Might be hard to score less than Freo's 13 point effort.

Yes there is, it's called a rebranding. The AFL is the continuation of the VFL competition, evolved into a national entity.

They are not now, nor have they ever been, separate entities. This is a stated fact (not revisionist pro-Victorian history as is often claimed) and it will never change.

Why is that such a hard concept to grasp?
