Wheres Michael Barlow at ???

He's being played out of position most of the year, that's the problem.

I think he's been slower than normal this year - really noticed it in the Carlton game. I love him to bits though, so have been very forgiving.

He's just so slow now. He's always been slow but now he's even slower. It hurts him more because he's so tall as well. Mitchell is just as slow but he's a midget with a low centre of gravity and basically never get tackled

I'm just mystified when we go to the first few centre bounces of the game with Suban and DeBoer in there and Barlow on the pine.
Just makes no sense. If you actually wanted to come away with the pill Barlow would be fairly high on my list of people to send after it.
I suspect he might even get dropped. He's in the naughty corner for some reason.

What a joke MDB and Suban both get gifted games and in the middle as well.

Doesn't take a genius to figure out with both them in the middle we're going to lose.

I think this is the gear we have to go up. Playing Barlow at the contest.
I know you believe this and it makes sense on a certain level but why (if we were in fact trying to win the game and it sure looked like it) would you drag Barlow when there was still 4 points up for grabs. I just don't believe we would just throw the game when we could have locked up top spot.
But then why did we go into the first few centre square contests with DeBoer and Suban in there if we were trying to win?
It reminds me of Harvey's day a bit, I can't quite work out what we are trying to achieve.

What we have figured out is that Lyon has no clue against teams that play good attacking game plan.

And yes the Eagles are a good attacking team, as much I hate to admit it.

It's a conspiracy theory:cool:

And yet we've been beating teams with a "good attacking game plan" all year.
As much as I hate to say it, I think we're looking at a situation where it's our players at fault, not the coach. Skills are costing us games at this point in time, not whether or not Lyon "has a clue" as to how to beat attacking sides.
The journeymen are being exposed, that's all that's happening here. A couple of injuries to fist pick players, a couple of others having a drop in form, and we can't (or, earlier in the year, won't) fill the gaps.

Here's a tip. The coach could, you know, pick skilled players...

Hence the "or, earlier in the year, won't" part. We squandered those opportunities, and I think it's a little late in the season now. I don't want it to be, but there it is.

Having said that, though, maybe even an overawed and underdone Weller would have more impact than some.

Who?

The best in the business at the moment are Hawks, Richmond and Eagles. We have lost against all of them...

And no point bringing up the Eagles match earlier in season, as its the ones end of season that count.

So what I see against Richmond, West Coast and Hawthorn is that we're not good enough most of the time and we need certain players to play out of their skins to win.

We need to raise the overall skill level to help. Guys must be held accountable for shit skills, bad decisions and overall shitful play.

By replacing some of these guys with Weller, Blakely and Langdon we gain pace and skill, lose some fitness and strength.

Here's the thing: fitness and strength isn't getting it done.

I'd prefer speed and skill whether it's too late or not
