I’m in genuine two minds and can’t call it, but who do you see finishing higher in 2023?

Who is positioned better from a list/team perspective?

I'm fairly neutral on this one. Can't bring myself to barrack for the bombers.

I tipped Carlton for the same reason. However, I can handle an essendon win because I reckon they're more likely to fall in a heap as the season progresses

idk how you end up at that point, but based on some pre-season predictions (from memory) a lot of afl "people in the know" had essendon tipped to sit in or near the bottom 4. in contrast, carlton was broadly speaking top 8.

You know they had premiership players in their team in that draw, meaning they should have won by 6 goals minimum against a non contender and what they consider a non power house club as well.

by this logic, richmond shouldn't be playing shit either, right? they've got a ton of premiership players still playing for their side from their most recent GF win (2020) including the likes of boltan, martin, bolta, vlaustin, pickett (dicey, i don't think he's particularly good), broad, short, nankervis, baker etc.

they weren't playing their best on the day, and it was still only decided by a wayward kick that (should've imo) been a pretty easy set shot.
