But the ball was deep in Collingwood's forward line.

Of course a smart player for Collingwood would be looking for an opportunity to score, whilst a smart player for the opposition should have a defence first mindset...

I mean, if there was one player in the competition you would ensure is accounted for in that situation, it would be Nick Daicos....

Again, it comes down to the numbers.

Probability of Collingwood scoring from that stoppage should they take clean possession - 95%.

Probability of Carlton scoring from that stoppage should they take clean possession - much less than 95%.

But that's the difference between a clutch team, and a team full of deers in headlights.
Deep in Collingwoods forward line??? 😂😂😂

The ruck contest was literally outside ur forward 50 😂😂

OMFG.

Do you guys ever get anything right?

I must have missed the 6 bounces Daicos had before he snapped it through for goal from 30 metres out...

Edit: I read 'ur' as 'our'. Feel free to use correct grammar next time - it doesn't cost anything.

Nonetheless - there was still a much higher probability of Collingwood scoring from that stoppage (particularly if Daicos got the ball in his hands) than there was of Carlton scoring (particularly if Walsh got the ball in his hands).

And I also notice Daicos only left Walsh AFTER the Cerra fumble. It was just textbook footy from the potential GOAT.

So Carlton have salary cap issues despite having never contended for a flag?

Gee, that's a concern...
They must be paying them on an expectation basis with bonuses for losing to Collingwood.

I guess it'd help if they weren't paying Charlie Curnow about $5million per goal kicked in finals.

Carlton, such high achievers.

It's in the past now mate, despite how fond those memories are for you.

This thread is now about 2025.
Just sick of you blokes dodging the current status, just man up boys.

Lol good luck to them getting a trade done. We won't be letting him walk out the door without matching the offer.
What happens in reality when a player indicates he no longer wants to be part of your team and requests to go to another club:
Is it:
A. The club matches and plays hard ball and refuses to trade the player....
Or..
B. The club accepts that the player no longer wants to be there and negotiates the best deal they can get.

Tell me what you think is overwhelmingly the most common outcome....I'll wait.

What's the 'current status'?

That we were both a fair way off it in 2024, but with Collingwood finishing the season stronger than Carlton, and winning both games against Carlton.

On the back of Collingwood contending for the flag in the prior two seasons, compared to Carlton who didn't.

And finally, Collingwood have objectively improved their list in the off season, compared to Carlton who didn't.

THAT 'current status'?

Could be a Daniher situation, who had no choice but to stay, otherwise the trade currency would be double the Schultz deal

Cerra fumbled, Daicos goaled. That's really the only story there is to tell.

Can try as much as u want to blame it on Walsh but ultimately that's exactly what he'd be expected to do in that situation.

This one fell Nickys way and props to him for putting it through the sticks to ice the game.

You are the master of deflection.
Answer me this - Carlton pick up Houston, then lose TDK - is the list better, or worse ?
Don't answer with fluff, or nuffery
There's only 2 responses - better, or worse
Tick tick tick tick still waiting for an answer - better or worse
It's not that hard to answer is it ?
English not a strong suit - should I ask this question in Mexican perhaps?

Yep and what happened in the Danniher situation?
No club wants to keep players who want out.

What?

Walsh wouldn't be expected to go with Daicos when the ball's in Collingwood's forward line and he's accountable for him?

Long live that Carlton game plan!

Why exactly would TDK, who grew up supporting the Blues and has never had a bad thing to say about the club 'no longer want to be there'? 😂

If the games level with a minute to go and ur team is about to take possession of the ball, you're sagging off ur man and getting into position to be an outlet. That's footy 101 Fudge.

Not going to try explaining it any further to someone who's clearly never played higher than division 8 ressies football.
