You hear the same line about D.Yze from every club he signs with over the years, and that has been many, many clubs. He is a mercenary that plays for money, pure and simple (with the added bonus of dragging his brother along to any club that he ends up at).
Can confirm Yze's first cousin is the head coach of Glenorden. Think what you like. Haters gonna hate.

Got nothing to to do with hating because according to Penski, Yze has form in this department. To most of us, it doesn't matter what he or anyone else is getting paid but it's common knowledge that Orden have been throwing around the dollars to get better senior players to the club. Good on them. With the cousins case, two things could happen. 1. Yze plays for unders out of loyalty to his cousin. 2. His cousin pushes for big bucks for Yze to get him over the line. Whichever way, Yze plays for Orden and it will be good to watch him go nuts and kick bags.

Then this will be the first case out of his last few clubs were he is not playing for the highest bidder. He's apparently had mates and/or relatives at all of the last few clubs he's been at! (standard line from the club that he signs with)

Happy to be corrected but like has already been said, he's made most of his career on being a mercenary. Good luck to him if he is not doing that this time around.

Don't get me wrong he is a nice bloke, but history shows that he plays for the dollars.*

*noting that he played last season in the ammo's, it is rumoured that he was promised work that never eventuated so moved has on after the one season.

Caroline Springs have had 8 years of collecting junior registrations,
So should have been in a better position to field a senior team, than Sanctuary Lakes and
Manor Lakes starting from scratch. Manor Lakes didn't have a senior team in there plans, but
Receiving so much interest from locals playing else where.
Carro springs is a not for profit club all junior fees went back to juniors for various things new jumpers, family day, team dinners, presentation nights at tinpin bowling etc.
Good luck in 2014 paying all these mercenarys, plus fees to league im sure the junior parents will be be happy seing there fees paying for mercenarys that is good forward planning haha

My top 5 this year

Parkside
Glen Orden
Wyndhamvale
Sunshine Heights
West Footscray

Look in all honestly the only teams that can win the flag next year are the top 3 here period!

Parkside were impressive last in the grand final loss to Deer Park, and now I believe they want this more then ever! Interesting too see who they have picked up as they havn't lost many.

Glen Orden are my big movers this year, A team who were OK last year, when I watched were impressive through the midfield but really struggled up forward. This year I think they have a purpose picked up some real guns, (who knows if the geelong pair will play) but regardless they have some good local talent in Huxtable who is a werribee junior and will hold down a key position the word I hear is he is a beautiful kick and a solid bloke, and will play up forward or down back. Jarred Magna an Albion player who hasn't played for 2-3 years apparently by reoccuring knee problems, plays pretty much in any position.
The biggest rumored source comes from Yze and his cousin, who are both 70+ goal kickers and will solve all of the hawks forward problems.

Wyndhamvale

Some big names making in down to the falcons, O'Shea will probably hold down the best midfielder and go into the season as the favourite for the leauge b&f. The team is building and building and I think they are close too full potential and this year will rock the competition and push for a flag, speedy side with plenty of youth.

the rest are making up numbers in my opinion.

Predicted Premier- Parkside
Predicted Runner Up - Glen Orden
Predicted leauge B&F winner - Daniel Bunworth Wyndhamvale
Predicted leauge goalkicking - Adam Yze if he plays if not, Linden Harris West Footscray
Wooden Spoon - Sanctuary Lakes

Magna may play in any position but is he any good? Played most of his games in the magoos at Albion and was serviceable at best. Just an ok player.

Adam Yze may still be running for Hawthorn so how often will he be seen if this is the case?

O'shea is pretty tall so I wouldn't think he'd be playing as a mid in this comp.

dont give the cobras much of a hope?? some real good kids down there! plus some real solid wouldnt say guns but good div 2 footballers will be there abouts!!

Yeah Magna was a fringe player. There was no way that he'd be able to hold his spot in those Albion sides. I saw a few Div2 games between the top sides last year and he'll struggle against the top sides.
On Oshea without knowing too much about the Vales, someone with his size would have to play key position in Div2. I'm not sold on the Vales but time will tell.
Damien Yze will play most if not all games. Will kick bags.

2013 ladder prediction

Parkside - flag favourites after nearly beating yarraville
Glen orden - will fight falcons for top 2 finish
Wyndham Vale - unlucky not to have my top 2 tip
West Footscray - will play finals but won't match the top teams
Albanvale - out in week 1
--------
Sunshine heights - unlucky not to make it
Manor lakes - will be happy with first year
Caroline springs - continue to improve
Sanctuary lakes - will win a few but lose more
Braybrook - will be more competitive but ladder won't show it
Nth Sunshine - hopefully will get a win this season
Laverton - will be lucky to have a team

Thoughts?

Ladder =

Glenorden (Didnt lose much and recruited very well, double improvement from last year means they catch up to the top 3 teams)
Wyndhamvale (Same bout as Glenorden, except probally not as well off in the recruiting race but still done very well non the less)
Parkside (lost a few and will gain a few, been more talk about the parkside team in last few seasons then there has been now and we know they like to spruik there recruits ;) )
Albanvale (Always there abouts, finished off the second half of the season last year well enough to suggest that if they can add a couple handy types can push for finals this year)
Sunshine Heights (Not as well off as glenorden when they came down, but there mature aged players are going to still be very handy in Division 2, and there keen for a win, will most likely beat all but the top 3 or 4 which means they play finals)
--------------------
West Footscray (Will be unlucky but will get alot of positives from this year)
Caroline Springs ( Can only keep improving IMO players will keep coming the quality of the players is all that matters, add a few to this team and they will be ok)
Manor Lakes (Always hard for first year teams but with the coach in place and the players following will be more competetive then most would suggest, finals is a big ask first year up consolidation is all that is required build on what will be a very competivite first year :thumbsu: )
Braybrook (New coach some fresh faces and training attitudes has changed a little which should see a more competetive Brookers side this year)
Sanctuary Lakes (Same as Manor however without the established players coming accross, still got some very handy types in the team but after there top 10 players will drop away fast, wont have much depth to compete with top 6 sides but will win some games which is a good first year in the comp)
Nth Sunshine (A win is on the cards this season! i wont speculate as to who i think they will beat but im going for 2 wins this year and that will be a very good thing for this club who has done it hard and stuck it out)
Laverton (:( )

Ladder =
Glenorden
Wyndhamvale
Parkside
Albanvale
Sunshine Heights
--------------------
West Footscray
Caroline Springs
Manor Lakes
Braybrook
Sanctuary Lakes
Nth Sunshine
Laverton

Top 5 for me are:

Glenorden, Wyndhamvale, Parkside, Sunshine Heights, Braybrook or Caroline Springs.

Time will tell.

Can Anyone from Glen Orden tell me if there's any truth to a whisper i heard that they've just signed a former AFL ruckman??

That is correct.

How can certain clubs recruit players (so far ) 10 on clearances and owe league money from last year and get away with it while playing finals the year before? I thought you had to be financial ,please explain?????

This might upset you at parkside but there are many more and some bigger signatures to come.

Well make space in the cabinet for the cup or whatever it is and start planning for Div 1 in 2014. The funds are obviously there and the league shouldn't take no for answer when it comes time to go up a division.

Hearing that manor lakes might have to find a new ground due to insurance issues?

Also another club with no beer, as the ground is on school grounds!

They had good numbers on the track when I drove past on the way home last night

Same cant be said about sanctuary lakes.

Manor lakes have double the players than the sharks.

Sharks won't field a reserves side....

I think that numbers have picked up at Sanctuary Lakes. They have a good coach on board and I expect that they will get two sides up. Will be a bit of a test for Point Cook now as there is an easy option for kids coming through the ranks to switch to WRFL footy without moving too far.

Will be interesting to see where the 2 new clubs are in 5-8 years time. They are using completely different approaches to starting up and it will be a good compariosn to see which one works.

45 there last night

Would be easily 10 blokes that did not turn up which would have been to most sessions

Will be interesting how both clubs go competing with other local sides, without a bar.

I live in Manor Lakes, and they have done a really good job of encouraging the community to be involved.

seeing both train in consecutive nights, and there is a world of difference.
