results deer park by about 160
albanvale by 240 over the mighty power hahahaha
heights by 50 over wyndamvale
west and gladdy no play?????
nth sunshine come over the top of braybrook by 3 points
nth footscray beat coburg by 13 points

and the lavo ground no better than deer parks the only thing was that our council closed ours and not theres whats going on there?????

td spot on the money again................

My mate who plays for lavo told me the ground sucked to play on, multiple blood rules due to the hardness, the deer park players did say it was better than thiers, but yeah pretty poor. Better playing footy on it than not though.

Laverton's firsts were not full strength (not that it'll make a difference), he agrees with what you say, i dont think they won a centre clearance. Need a ruckman and some big bodied mid fielders.

Umpires were no much chop both ways in his opinion.

Mind you, they did run out of pies and only had sausage rolls. Fess up weapons, how much did you eat?

Was at the game at Heights yesterday. Sunshine Heights looked very impressive and are definatly going to be a major player this year. Falcon boys were a little dissapointed and expected a better showing but are still confident of a turn around in round 2 and the feeling is the club can still make a big impact in '07. Stayed around for a beer, the club is good like that, very supportive as we are all in the same boat and its good to be mates and support each other. Look forward to seen the Heights boys down at Honor Avenue next time!

Lavertons ground even though it is still one of the better ones was hard and terrible ...

Not one guy didnt have a cut or graze on there legs, we need some rain fellas

watched the heights game they are a bit soft
Felt it was won at half time. Mathematically no but had a five goal lead which should have been 8 or 9 with no thanks to the overweight, slow, unfit whistle happy men in white.

The two are cousins and are both great kids. Very professional and gutsy players. Munns very smooth and composed a bit of a general out there. Both Caruana's good, Greto, Mallia, Weston, Hoblos, Demetrious, Farnfield, Madaroski, Dean. They are all the players you would give a 7 plus game out of 10. Only 4 or 5 players had quiet ones really.

They have a few weaknesses but none I would share with Deer Park as much as I love you weapons lol. Would rather Wyndhamvale beat Deer Park. They are quite a good side and put some good passages of play together. We are just a lot better. They should also have Cook cleared if Yarraville do the right thing and clear him and let him play with his brother.

Solid win by the devils today against districts. Both sides had a real crack but don't think either were top 4 material. The devils still have 3 or 4 to come back in, but Coburg may have won if the game was played at Cumberland Road. Devils won the reserves by about 170 points so not much depth at Coburg! Reserves were absolutely pathetic.
devil it was a tough game but coburg should have won in the end just run out of players no bench 2 blokes playing that couldnt move in the lst qrt so it was going to be telling in the end i guess we will gt our chance to knock u guys off next time around we still have about 6-7 senior players to come back into the side so the 1's will get stronger, u guys are a very young side compared to last year how did you play if u did devil, ur ground was bloody hard

Hammertigers, dont think you can sit here and say that Coburg should have got up!! You guys had your chances in the third qrt to put us away but failed to do so.
We played a whole 2nd qrt pretty much with two players off the ground due to their undiscipline acts and missed about 3 or 4 shots at goal right in front of goals within 30 metres. We too have about 4-5 senior players to come back into the side and played two players yesterday that have never played a senior game before. I put yesterdays win down to our fitness being at a higher level than Coburgs..... you guys where dropping like 10 pins in the last qrt due to cramp.... so maybe you fellas should have put a bit more in during pre season.

And just one more thing pal.... dont go bagging our ground for being too hard.... Wasnt it your ground that we couldnt play on????? Dont go throwing stones!!!!

watched the heights game they are a bit soft

Not sure what game you watched bigton. Sunshine heights were far from soft. I was actually surprised how hard they went in for the ball on such a hard ground. I saw a couple of players over and over run with the flight of the ball and put their bodies on the line. One was number 6 and the other was a guy in the backline. Both sides were hard at the ball but Sunshine won more of the hard ball.

w weapons tell me a bit about Deer Park. I am watching them vs Wyndhamvale next week as it looks like the best game. Are you tall, quick, hard, direct type of side. From watching Wyndhamvale yesterday I think Deer Park wont have it all their own way. Should be a good spectacle.

due to playing 1 of the teams down the bottom it was hard to tell about the type of game played at times were a bit selfish in not giving off to the best option in front of goal and having a ping..........clearly won the centre clearences with some hard tackles and bumps and good ruckwork......i dont think we are tall but have alot around the 5f7 to 6 foota type player which playing the maggies we looked tall most of them are strong marking running type players which would be hard to match up on in the f/w line.........i dont think i seen the best of the deer park side but always lift when it comes to challengers for the finals and will be a great one to watch

Tell you what TD, I was at the game on Saturday and what were you thinking picking Fasil in the 1's. The bloke is a disgrace. He constantly demanded the ball and when they didn't kick to him he sooked up and went found a free kick to give away to take his frustrations out. When you took him off you looked a much better forward line.
Thought you may of run out of legs mid-way through the third when they put through 4 in a row but your better players stopped bombing it and chasing kicks to get a couple back late. Last quater very scrappy and some poor umpiring.
Just looking from the outside in you may have problems with better sides due to your fringe players always looking for your guns. Man them up and they may not have the decision making skills to win in the pressure situations.

Mate faisal will put you in his left pocket, has the best mark in the competition. he might not had a great game but it will come. Gaurantee he will kick over 50 goals this season

So did the best mark in the comp take one on Saturday? I didn't see it. I would hope he has a better game next week. Plus you would wanna hope that your FF would come close to kicking 50 goals in a side that will play deep in the finals. Otherwise it would be a waste and better off playing a kid.

Bluballs... If u were at the game... give us the best players from either side... jumper numbers will do.

I thought 21 & 23 for the vale were good and the kid in the forward line who played in front and reaped the rewards.

Pretty obvious for SH 18, 7 and my memory has lost me on the others but I can see they are good players. If I was TD I would be a little worried about the fringe players because really if you play a side that is tight on 18, 7 etc they will struggle under pressure. Time and Time again it was either 1 or 2 of the good players getting the hard ball and making right choices with the ball. Others just bombed and hoped for a big mark up forward.

Ground was a disgrace too. I bet there are a shitload of sore bodies today.

HAHA and also what's this Hotdogs in BREAD crap....... Did the Bakery run out of rolls?

About time u posted some legitimate footy talk.....

Hot Dogs in Bread... not sure about that one... but I heard Weapons stopped in for 10 minutes on his way to the Deer Park game and cleaned out the canteen..

Fair enough about manning up 18 and 7... but there are not many quick enough for Caruana (7) and even if you stay tight on Mallia (18) good luck beating him one on one.

This bloke was very unaccountable. I didn't see him man up at all in the 2nd half. I realise he is a mid-fielder but some accountability would of been nice to see some of his defensive skills.

Fair enough... but I would take his 30+ touches and 15 marks any day.
