If this accusation had been made about any other club, including Port, I'd be equally as pissed off. There is just no need to air comments about another club like that, especially when you were still technically coach of another team.

Now, I wouldn't know who's credentials are more believable at this point - disgrunted former employee Mick Malthouse, or Steven 'IBHF' Trigg. But I do know I don't believe this statement.

No one is worried about whether the Crows approached Betts' management 18 months in advance, it's about whether there was an agreement. If the Crows had no agreement with him then you have nothing to worry about.

What hurts most is that Port Adelaide have done so much to restore the brand and image of AFL in SA in the wake of the Crows' Tippetgate and Trigg's constant gaffs. This revelation today is a kick in the guts to SA footy. There's barely a less transparent sporting club in Australia than the Crows. I'm certain Trigg has a war-chest of secret deals and skullduggery from his time as Adelaide's CEO
