While he's no 120 pound weakling, this stat is severely overrated. Many of Travis "contested" marks were one out against the opposition's second or third best defender. If Jono Brown only had to deal with that and not 2 or even 3 defenders hanging off him (quite often illegally) every week, he would have hauled in a lot more "contested" marks than Travis.
eh? 3rd best defender? Cloke is the main man in the Collingwood forward line and has great 1-on-1 body strength. It's not an overrated stat at all.

The bloke plays for the Doggies now, and had an absolutely brilliant and hugely underrated season.

Nothing to do with size or beef. Core strength.

Pound for pound its probably one of the inside midfielders.

Haha, not unlike us to have our best midfielders (or extractors) underrated unfortunately.

Crossy, right? If he was just a bit more explosive with his pace he'd probably get rated, but his current game is perfect for when we have our Griffens, Cooneys and Higgins running around. He's also really reliable overhead.

Appreciate it.

Alex Ischenko was massive.

Tom Harley's guns had guns.
Some Ruckmen obviously....
Kreuzer.

Hampson is huge at 204 cms and built, but almost has chicken legs.

Kreuzer always holds his feet.

Face of a 21 year old, but the body of a 150 game veteran.
Jack Reiwoldt will be tough one on one. He bulked up last year and kicked 80 goals. He looks bigger now so will be very hard to beat
Nice one.

Even Houlihan spoiled him one out in the season's opener this year.

Dustin Martin is the strongest kid I've ever seen. Can fend off anyone. Will soon be up there if not already.

I'd say Gary Ablett would be up there pound for pound. He too can't be tackled. Amazing core strength and shrugs people off with his hips.

I think Gehrig still holds the Bench record at both West Coast and at the Saints. Given that he left the eagles as a back flank / wing runner and his record hasn't been beaten by the likes of Q-Stick, Cox, etc... makes it pretty impressive I would have thought.

Current: Power - Brown, Hall, Rutten.
Core strength - Ablett, Judd, J.Selwood, Hayes.

You have sa go at the Richmond guy for nominating Riewoldt, and rightly so, but then you go and nominate Kreuzer. I really can't decide which one of you two is the more biased poster.

Hall can throw a punch, but I don't reckon in pure strength stakes he would be the strongest in the league.

For me, Dunstall or Gehrig for all time.

I think you're right on Gehrig, I read the same somewhere a while ago. I think in his Saints days he was the strongest bloke in the league.

Mick Martyn was the Roos best bench presser back in the day, ahead of blokes like Carey and Archer.

Well Jack made Pears look like a feather last season
Good luck out muscleing him when he's bulked up next season.

Mick Martin had the biggest bench press in the mid 90s

But wouldn't squats be the tell all end all.
Legs have some of the biggest muscles in you body which creates pure power

pound for pound Rodans pistons are massive for such a little bloke.

Pure strength atm - Brown. Of yesteryear one that hasn't been mentioned is Alastair Lynch.

Sorry how silly of me I forgot to just name players from my own team. I'll go with Matty Campbell just in front of Lindsay Thomas

That's not strength it's footy smarts and positioning.

In the same way that Ablett Snr was able to beat his opposition no matter how big they were.

I agree that Riewoldt shouldn't be mentioned in a strongest discussion (he's got a strong core, but nothing spectacular), but Ablett Sr. was incredibly strong as well as being able to get to the right places. His speed and power were absolutely incredible - his genetic makeup was one in a million.
