Nothing will surprise me now. However.. not going to worry about it.

We should avoid O'Meara as much as possible - he has stated his interest in returning home as soon as he can. I'm not sure how much truth there is in that, but why risk it?

I would still take Omeara though, he seems to be the standout and if he wanted to go West after two years we'd get a nice deal form him.
If Goddard is leaving it will be so that he can be a "Career Footballer". He will want money. GWS will be the place to go if thats what motivates him. He would put up with a few years at Breakfast Point ( though their "country club" is lacking a golf course, there's one within jogging distance )

You're kidding right. Hampson is a lurch and you don't have a top 10 pick to give away.

Carlton don't have a top ten pick, so would have to trade out a player to get one.

Goddard to GC for pick 4 and Sam Day
Pick 4 on-traded to WC for Gaff
Sam Day on-traded to ADEL for Dangerfield
Danger wants to return to Melb - Check
Gaff same - Check
Day wants to return to SA - Check
WC get good compo in pick 4 - Check
GC get a marquee gun player - Check
So it's effectively Goddard for Gaff and Dangerfield

I have been searching for this, this is all I could find
"The Veterans List allowance will be amended to apply to players with 10 years service at one club and will be based on a set amount of TPP per player calculated as a percentage of TPP"

So its seems ScoDog is correct, however they will only get a fixed $$ relief eg. $100K per player, rather than the current system where 50% of 2 veterans payments (33% for 3 veterans) can be excluded from the cap.
Going to cause issues for some clubs.
