AA selection committee just trolled Australia with the selections of Rioli and NicNat

Absolutely. Mark 2012 down as the year the AA team lost its last thread of credibility. It is no longer a reflection of the best players in each position, in the competition, it is now a marketing exercise & nothing more. Eddie Betts & Lewis Jetta should be offended by the selection of Mr Inconsistency, Cyril Rioli, whilst 'Sauce' Jacobs should just run through Nic Nat next time the Crows play the West Coast Junkies.

To make it worse, how do Swan & Deledio get selected ahead of Sam Mitchell? A very poor joke on the part of the AA selection committee.

Whilst it's no surprise that the buffoons that sit down to select the All Australian team make complete and utter asses of themselves, as it happens on an annual basis, the selections of Rioli and Naitanui in this years side is beyond laughable.

Naitanui wasn't in the top 4 ruckmen this season, yet he's the starting ruck?

As for Rioli, well put this down as further proof that he is, hands down, the most overrated footballer in the league........by an absolute mile.

I can think of at least 4 blokes that deserves to be in that team, Mitchell, Pavlich, Jacobs and Lewis.

Rioli and Naitanui both in the AA side really grinds my gears. Both players, Naitanui especially, do some flashy exciting things but their output is nothing overly special. It's good, they are good players but not AAs. Betts and Milne kick far more goals than Rioli. Naitanui is a flashy player who can jump high and does something that hardly any other ruckman does and small players often do like run. Hates and can't handle physical pressure, just have a look the other night against Collingwood, he did nothing, hardly the sign of the AA ruckman!

The forward/part time ruck has become one of the most imortant roles in the game. They haven't selected a decent one. Jarryd Roughead was the best forward/ruck of 2012 and should have been named forward pocket and Cox who again is the best ruckman in the league, should have been named number 1 ruckman.

Garry Ablett Jr should have been named on a HFF, Rioli not in the team and Sam Mitchell names on the ball.

The AA team is a joke.

Doesnt spend a second away from the ball, is it just because he USED to be a flanker??
HFF shoudl have been Jetta from Sydney, kicked a ton of goals, played on the wing/flank/centre he was robbed

Because towards the end of this season he did play forward a bit. It was spoken about that they were trying it to make them a bit less dependant on him in the center. Also put Ablett there so that Mitchell could fit in. He definately spent some time forward against us. Jetta would have been a worthy inclusion though, had a better season than Rioli.

Yeah there were some dodgy inclusions for sure, the idiots couldn't possibly justify thier selection of NicNat and Rioli and keep a straight face, but I mean in terms of the whole line up, out of those that missed out, which team would you put together to take on their AA team?
