I dont think the game plan will change a bit. If anything, it will ease the Burden on Pav, Walters, mayne and balla... Sylvia will rotate in the forward flanks and the midfield. Gumbleton and Pav will occupy the 2 key forward spots.
Keep in mind Freo still made the grand final with Pav out for half a season. If one of Mayne, Pav, Ballas or Walters misses a month of football with injury, Freo should still have enough options to kick a winning score.
Not only Pav missed half a season, but Walters our top goal scorer still missed a month of football from his ankle injury against Sydney. He then missed the final against Geelong and came back and slotted 3 against Sydney and 2 against the Hawks in the GF.
Sonson plays a full year of footy and he is good for 50+ goals... Let's hope Sylvia can do at least half of that. Wouldn't mind 25 goals from him and 40 or so from Gumby.
Pretty sure Walters played in final against Geelong

Pretty sure Walters played in final against Geelong, however he carry a PCL injury for the last 5/6 games
Yeah he did. Pretty sure Seppo was there too. What on earth could have impaired his memory like that?![]()

Whoops, my bad. I did think of him being rested for the Saints game but wires got crossed thinking about finals.
I was there to see him in Geelong too!![]()
As a matter of fact, did Mayne get a goal against Sydney?
No but he scored one of the most unco points in the history of our club, when Walters kicked it into his lap unattended in the goalsquare and he dropped the ball over the line.
One of the those gold occasions when every grandmother in the stadium can legitimately claim "I could have marked/kicked that"
Probably second only to Pav tripping over his own feet in the goalsquare against Richmond a few years ago.

.1. The role of a sub is to have an immediate impact, De Boer isn't a sub player, he'd be the worst possible sub for us. We defiantly didn't make a mistake by not naming him as a sub.Don't get me wrong RTB is the best coach we have ever had in our entire history ,but the support staff MAY have let him down in the grand final and I know he will fix the problem .
1 : Deboer had a melt down in the Sydney game and Neale showed his poise when he came on in both the Sydney and GF games , so he should have started on the bench as a rotation and Dedoer as the Sub in the Grand Final
2 : Ballas within the first 10 minutes should have been sat on the bench to calm down and been spoken too about cooling down and play his normal game assistants Sumich or Kirk one or the other ,who ever responsible needed to act .
3 : Clarke should not have been subbed in the Grand final but thrown up forward to help Pav IMHO.
RTB may have been asked but we may never know if the question was asked of him or offered as advise
This should have been screamed at him by Suma and we won't know if it was till the book comes out.
As I said he will learn and so will the Club as they did for the Geelong game and hiring the charter flight which is what every body said at the end of last year and the 2 Steve's did so HATS OFF to them.

2. You don't think a message would of gone out to him? The coaching staff would of told him that at every break, quarter time/half time, etc.
3. Clarke was useless in the Grand Final. He can't play forward, subbing him out was the right move.
Ballas has a pretty fair record in Melbourne the MCG final against Geelong to name one
Clarke had a shocker in the GF and leaving him on would have given the Hawks an extra runner in the last and would have caused us more problems
De Boers mental statedont know what your'e talking about Coulda
