Why do fans boo when opposition line up for goal?
Because they think it helps them miss.

Fans barrack hard for their teams but rarely have a chance to make a difference.

Adam Goodes has proven that booing him affects his performance, to the point where he will not even play.

As opposition, why the hell wouldn't you boo?!

Yeah fair enough. Yet, you have absolutely no respect for him in regards to what he does outside of football?

Yes, I have No respect for Goodes for they way he goes about it and because of some of the detail. IMO He is divisive, IMO He thinks he is above other Australians by lecturing down to us. Andrew Bolts Blog explains Link. But most of all for his Constitutional change, he actually wants to add clauses that gives rights to certain races but not to others, which I vehemently disagree with because I believe all Australians should be treated equal whether you have been here for 1 year or 40,000 years. Yes we should all recognise that A&TSI were here first but that does not give them any more rights as Australians outside of native title.

I have HUGE respect for:
Marica Langton - Brilliant Australian
Ernie Bridge - Before his time as a visionary in the mold of C Y O'Connor
Glenn James - Best V/AFL umpire we have ever had

I have respect for:
David Wirrapanda - making a difference with any fan fare (OK his bad for Drunk driving)
The Black Steam Train
Ernie Bridge - He makes us all Laugh and smile
Ian Trust - Lets Common sense prevail
Douglas Nicholls - As time goes on lets not forget how great a man this bloke was.
Eddie Mabo - Made the Govt that represents us all, formalise the obvious

I have no respect for:
Cathy Freeman - don't get me started
Mick Dobson - Just plain dumb
Robert Bropho - Dispicable Human being
M O'loughlin - Alleged sex offender who paid hush money
Michael Mansell - offered nothing to solutions
Noel Pearson - Has contributed nothing to making a difference

There's no question the booing has just become systematic bullying, with a huge percentage just getting their anonymous trolling jollies, pleased at the effect it is having on the media, and getting some misplaced sense of 'empowerment' from it, and well as some sense of self-validity and belonging with their fellow boo boys

It is possible that they have no knowledge, and most likely no interest in the effect it is having on Goodes personally.

It's not far removed from the internet bullying one sees on the internet...everyone against one person, what fun...

Wow does he really deserve that?

“It means treating people the way you want to be treated, whether that’s your manners, the way you talk to people, whether they are your loved ones or the person serving your dinner.

Goodes on why tackling racism is good for all of us:

“It’s about how you choose to give back and make a difference to those around you, your community or your country that goes outside of just yourself.”

Is he being booed for common sense ? Or are people afraid he is more than a dumb footballer? Or are people plainly ingrained with being an elitist royal bloodline etc and therefore racist
He also made some remarks that some may find inflammatory or offensive. As I said, once you become political, you need to expect that some people will disagree with you.

I thought Dermott offered up one of the more interesting angles this week when he suggested that Goodes should reflect on his own conduct and whether it has contributed to the crowd reaction.

There is no doubt that Goodes would be well served to reflect on how he's contributed to this increasingly ridiculous situation. If his only response is to blame, label and point the finger, then he misses a chance for self growth and realization. I recall having to deal with a fairly irrational and emotional colleague once upon a time and it was a watershed moment in my life to realise that regardless of how I viewed that person's actions, the primary avenue for me seeking a better outcome was my own domain. I needed to better manage my interactions. From that point on I've endeavoured to place myself at the cause end of a situation rather than at effect end and seek first to understand what I could have done better, regardless of how justly I felt I was in the right. Not only is it empowering, it's actually a very effective way to get better results, given that pigheadedly demanding others bend to your ways rarely works.

Now in saying this, I suggest also that those booing Goodes do the same thing. Maybe booing was a good way to have a jibe at a footy player, but knowing how deeply this is affecting the man, a champion of our game, surely you can cut a bit of slack. I mean stuff the idiots who are bullying you with propaganda that you're a racist and trying to manipulate your actions predetermining your motivations on your behalf; but yeah, look within yourselves and ask, knowing how messed up this situation is getting, is it really worth it? Why are you doing it? Are these the results you're really after? What if it was your kid, your brother, your mate, your father?

Or when Andrew Lovett has his mrs at knife point? Or when Jeff Farmer punches his wife out?
It's people like Wayne Carey who (if he still played) warrant the mass boos Goodes is receiving, not Goodes himself. People should be booing real flogs who are a stain on society and do nothing to try for the betterment of this earth like that flog. Instead, the man who is doing the complete contrary gets bullied into indefinite leave from the game.

Please include Gerrard Neesham in your list of people you have huge respect for. Done more for indigenous people than Adam Racist Goodes could ever dream of doing.

I do like the mention of one M O'Loughlin, Sydney supporters love to forget he paid hush money for that!

Once again, none of them carried on like Goodes though.

ummm....perhaps because Milnes abuse was not racially motivated?

Wait... Is boo-ing racially motivated or not? You can't have the cake and eat it to. Was Milne really boo'd because he is white?

If it really puts Gilligan and various sections of the media nose's out of joint, then it's all systems go for boo-gate.

Totally agree but my list was only Indigenous Aussies

I have huge time for the Clontarf academy. A couple of good mates of mine work for it. Also did you know that the Academy has now spread across all of Australia and turns of 35 Million a year... geez
