Autopsy Hawks vs Eagles Grand Final - We take our thirteenth flag!!!! The Threepeat is ours

When he is around the contest like at a centre bounce or ball up no doubt he can have a positive impact for his team but other than that he really struggles to get around the ball.
How much of that is footy smarts, how much is fitness and how much is carrying an injury who knows.
But for the rumored million plus AFL ambassador payments and media love based on his highlight reel vs actual game impact he does seem both overpaid and overrated.

I was going to say NicNat is all style no substance.

But "overpaid and overrated" sums it up better!

Geelong posters in particular said that the 5 goals were in junk time. (I see a little truth to this).

But Roughy's physical presence (along with fellow crunchers) was what won us that game. We were ruthless in that first qtr and Roughy lead this at every opportunity

(Love the Ruff)
Pray tell, do Handbagger supporters EVER have anything positive to say about a Hawk GF win?:rolleyes: :confused:

If AA selectors did their job properly and you know, picked 'Wingman' on the wings then Smith would be two time AA!
The positions don't exist anymore.

The spine still does, but every other position is just a rolling group of players.

If not for Roughy's bog effort in the 2014 against Port no-one would be discussing how he went in the 2014 GF. (Had a good GF in 2014 fwiw imo).

that steadying goal he kicked just before half time, after swans had kicked 2 in a row and had the most momentum they had for the whole game? Cats fans are idiots

Lol Murphy and Wood ahead of Gibson?

Lol Murphy and Wood ahead of Gibson?
I know I look at several of those names and think they can only find a spot for Gunners who came 10th in our B&F so the 5 best players on the best team aren't good enough?
Then I think as long as that's how the other coaches work we should keep winning

My mistake. I don't really care about it to be honest.

But I remember before it was announced most media 'experts' were saying Yeo in because he was the best wingman...... yeah right
You probably are getting him confused with Gaff. To be fair Gaff had a stellar year and rarely had a quiet game. Fully deserved AA.

Smith and Gaff are both the 2 best wingman (outside mids) in the game IMO.

Is this a joke?

As laughable as Clarko never being award Coach of the Year.

Coaches Association awards have no credibility.

Its funny though. If its a hawk the rhetoric is 'gotta have a few good season to earn your place'. If it's an opposition player they get in off one half decent season.

As a pure wingman, I would take Smith every single day of the week (just rewatch the GF if anyone disagrees) and he has been doing it consistently for 3 years now.

All Australian awards are unfortunately the self fulfilling prophecy of media bullshit through the year.
