Reckon this is the sticking point, Richmond would be saying if Mitchell (who is a year younger than Prestia and has shown just as much) is only worth a mid-first rounder then Prestia wouldn't be worth more than that. Gold Coast will be saying well that was the only first rounder they had, and Prestia is worth a first rounder to so Pick 6 it is.

Maybe so but if he wanted to got to saints then he Sydney probably would have received pick 10.

You have to work with what is available sometimes.

There is no exact worth to any player....

I do wonder if it's worth our while to insert ourselves into the Jaeger deal somehow, as opposed to straight dealings with GC.

Ess gets 4, 10, 16
Hawks get O'Meara, 41
Suns get 1, Hanley
Lions get Hartung, Whitecross, Melbourne's 2017 2nd rounder
Very much worth our while

1 would be hard to pick in the hands of gcs, but let's assume its mccluggage.
GWS snare McGrath
Lions would go sps

4-Taranto
10-florent
16-battle or Simpkin
20-Bolton

Goal kicking mid
Quick, silky ball getter
Forward
Line breaker

Unrealistic add on - get gcs to talk up Essendon to Prestia and send him to psd :D

How does West Coast make an allowance on their list for two of the top 5 rucks in the game? It's an absurd waste of salary cap space which would be vetoed by any responsible director.

Why would Goldstein go to West Coast where he gets to be clear number 1 for 1 year following which he's sharing ruck duties with a ruckman of equal standing?

I'll believe it when West Coast formally announces its interest.

Isn't Goldstein 29 or 30.

He doesn't have that long to go anyway.

Jordan Lewis is a gun but unfortunately is a bad mix for our midfield as we have too many one paced guys.
I agree with this; he's not what we need, as a good a player as he is.

If we hold onto pick 1 does that mean we get McLuggage?
As good as mccluggage has looked, i still want 2x top 10 picks
4&8 or 4&10 if we can involve the Hawks/o'meara trade would be a better outcome
Taranto and florent would be a better prospect than mccluggage for me.

Agreed.

Also don't underestimate the sour taste that would come with recruiting one of Hawthorns premiership players at the back end of his career.

There's still reason to despise that scum club.

The deal would have to be extraordinary to part with pick 1.

Goddard, Watson, Heppell, Stanton, hocking
No need for Lewis.
Mitchell I would have entertained (esp for a pick that late and coaching contract afterwards)
A year of his guidance into merrett and parish would be awesome

What is it that the Bulldogs have that we lack??

Tackling Ball winners?? Pace?

4&8 isn't extraordinary?
Or put another way, Brodie/Taranto plus florent?
I still think taranto is every bit as good as mccluggage and Brodie should be in the consideration for 1 (and not outside of realm of possibility that gcs would get him at 1).
Add to that another mid who has treloar written all over him
Even if this was last year, I'd take parish and Gresham over weitering or Schache

Ainsworth is a chance to go to lions - trade radio

Stewart and Daniher has the potential to be a very dangerous forward pairing.

I really hope we get this deal done.
Any idea what we might have to give up for Stewart?

Pfft we don't have the midfield depth to cover 4 quarters of constant hard line breaking bullocking bruise winning footy

This is where I think the focus could be picking up some bruise winning mids..that's what we need and some pace.
