We know someone that doesn't like the new "no 3rd man up" rule.....
Yes the dual ruckman at bounces, with clubs not knowing which one will take the ruck contest & the other 3rd man up .....strategy just got blasted .....so what will Blicavs role be now?

That's right they do.

So it was pretty silly for one of the usual suspects to assume it was normal for execs to earn more when it is very not normal

The players are underpaid here because some silly sausages still think their ticket prices pay for players

Let's look at the NFL, the commissioner no longer discloses his salary since they lost their tax exempt status, but in 2012 he earned $44M, the highest paid player in 2012 was earning $19M. In 2016, 4 years later players have only just started earning more than $44M/year but we no longer know what the chairman is getting. Average player wage is $2M.

Would you guess he's getting more or less now that it is hidden?

In the NBA David Stern was reportedly earning $20M - $23M/year, when the average player wage is $5M. The new guy is less experienced so probably less but it's not disclosed.

And don't forget that we have had players earn more than Gil's $1.6M in a season, just none right now. Buddy would be on more if he wasn't getting paid over 10 years.

I like this, because Geelong will hate it.

Could be bad news for Blicavs, will Geelong still play him in the midfield when he won't have his #1 trick?

Bit like how like the changes to stop ruckman marking the ball at the throw-in took away Brendan Lade's #1 trick and turned him into a very average ruckman, ending his career.

The change had to be made, it was stupid that a ruckman could hold the opposition ruckman to the ground without even attempting to go for the ball, knowing his team-mate would jump over the top unopposed and if anyone tried to block that player from jumping for the ball, they gave away a free kick.

Glad it's been taken out of the game, hate the 3rd man up. Hate it. It's confusing when there is no ruckman, just a bunch of players of which one will contest the ball up. Now teams will have to nominate the ruckman and those stupid frees paid for blocking the ruck will disappear.

The set play you describe made me scream at the TV almost as much as the non-calls on dropping ball last year :)

The no 3rd man up rule with benefit Jacobs imo. Is the sort of player that builds into a game. Probably extends the life of rucks like him and OBrien.
If you're into Supercoach, makes Sandilands a great option .....3rd man up was the only chance you had of beating him

Totally agree. They struggle enough to umpire a ruck contest between two players without finding a way to * up deciding if the third person was impeded or got in the way or was running too hard or whatever ticky touchwood free kick they pulled out of their arses.

Put on the foil hats and draw a long bow.
New rule may be aimed at Dangerfield.
Maybe he is a big benificiary of Blicavs 3rd up efforts and AFL want him to shut his trap over pay deal??
Next new rule former Brownlow medallists to play off handicap.
