so same as SO'K, just allow for more bounce and less skid?

Harsh to put SOK in the same category as Agar. SOK has consistently done the business in both test and FC cricket for years.

Agar hasn't really ever put together a decent season at any level with the ball (or even with the bat).

O'Keefe hasn't done the business consistently at test level and that's the point. He had an incredible test in India and was ordinary for the rest of the series. That is exactly why the selectors said he was left out. Now the real question for me is..will Agar be a better option and my answer would be no

I look at Agar's f/c averages (26 with the bat and 40 with the ball), and wonder whether he might not be better off concentrating on one discipline rather than trying to master both as an all rounder.

Agar's a better bowler than a 40 average (mostly playing at the WACA) suggests but he also benefits from getting some bags.

Definitely not as good a bowler as O'Keefe or Holland and I'd never advocate for selecting one of your four specialist bowlers over a superior bowler because he's an okay batsman.

He's not even 24 yet, and has two 10 fors and two tons at first class level. I hope WA continues to treat him as an all-rounder as it's very early days.

O'keefe is a far better bowler
So, our two best spinners (imo) O'Keefe and Holland are both not touring because of there big mouths?

O'Keefe I get because he is becoming a serial idiot, Holland I don't get.

I just don't see it (yet). I can see him being a handy limited overs bowler, but that's about it with the ball. Or maybe a number six (maybe, not sure on that either) bowling not much more than part-time.

This, I will not be surprised if we drop a test. They knocked off the Poms there last year, and they are a pretty decent side these days. If our batsman don't turn up one day, we could well lose a test.

I think they should be slight favourites to beat us.

My fear is we will rock up with bugger all preparation as 'it's only Bangladesh' and lose the first test

Peever is Rio.
Like, the players have public and media opinion on their side. CA need the players, the reverse doesn't apply here.

Ain't happening. Regardless of the Players rights and the revenue agreement it is clear the players have no desire to tour Bangladesh. I reckon that is a large part of the slow down of recent weeks. If they fear for safety they should just come out and say.

CA don't want to go Bangladesh either. No money to be made there for players or CA. Once the tour is abandoned, things will get fixed quickly so everyone can go to India. Players for the exposure and IPL contracts, CA because India = $.

Sick of Australia stiffing countries like Bangladesh.

This. It's an absolute joke.

People have ragged on players from some sides beating up on Bangladesh in particular over the years (Murali is the obvious one) but you have to wonder whether Bangladesh would have ever been close to reaching their current level if it weren't for Sri Lanka and to a lesser extent New Zealand and West Indies playing them regularly.

Even England gave them a start at Lords and Tamim Iqbal made a century there and showed everyone what he could do.

I think player safety is fairly important as well.
