Just quietly, im enjoying lurking on the Freo board and reading up on their post-season stuff.

There is some serious bathwater being drunk over there for a side that was never in finals contention (so many potential "A-grade" players on their list already apparently). I don't even know why they need a rebuild

2 top grade mids, 2 good wingmen, 1 very good small forward. Other then that its all still young kids or crabs with no real improvement left.

Im surprised they even lost a game this year with how good their list is

2 top grade mids, 2 good wingmen, 1 very good small forward. Other then that its all still young kids or crabs with no real improvement left.

Bennell would round out that mid group very well if he gets up and going. They seriously struggle for that next rung of quality esp in tall stocks, though.

Just Friday night games I believe, typical standard of journalism from the west.

They had some unexpected close wins against teams away from home earlier in the year, but apart from that it's been a horrible year for freo.

McCarthy hasn't turned out to be that key forward they have been crying out for, kersten hasnt taken the step up to suggest he is going to be any different a footballer to when he was at the cats. Brad Hill has been good but up and down and Hamling has been super consistent but really needs support from his midfield. With these ins to the side they should have done much better than 14th. 3 x 100 + losses is a horrible result; especially for a side that should be 18 months into the rebuild.

So they now rest their hope on Gov Jnr who hasn't done anything to suggest he will be able to lead a forward line as a genuine KPF.

If they get the internal improvement from guys like Langdon, Hughes, crozier, Blakely (even Bennell who showed he hasnt lost it completely) etc they may jump a spot or two. But they really lack a Genuine KP and a Ruckman to replace Sandi to really be in a position to seriously challenge for finals IMO.
