**How to Fill the Remaining Spots** (Taking into account the pitch, the conditions and the opposition or other factors which may affect the match)

Option 1- Seam All-Rounder (Cartwright), Fast Bowler (Cummins or Pattinson)

Option 2- Seam All-Rounder (Cartwright), Extra Spinner (Agar)

Option 3- Spin All-Rounder (Maxwell), Fast Bowler (Cummins or Pattinson)

Option 4- Spin All-Rounder (Maxwell), Extra Spinner (Agar)

Option 5- 2 Fast Bowlers (Cummins and Pattinson)

Option 6- Fast Bowler (Cummins or Pattinson), Extra Spinner (Agar)

I personally want Option 1 or possibly Option 5 but I want to hear others thoughts.
Option 2 for the game at the SCG as well.

We also need to identify which of Cummins or Pattinson we rate higher than the other.

Khawaja has been arguably our best vs pace bowling the last few years and hasn't failed at home since he became a test regular he is going to bat at 3 without a doubt.

It is a weak side, they have just one series win outside england in the last 4 years and they lost at home to SL they also lost a test to the windies at home couldn't beat the windies away and couldn't beat pakistan and nz at home, us being shithouse doesn't make england a good side.

The question is when was the ashes last contested by two teams this ordinary?

Hard to argue with that, it's likely maxwell vs cartwright for number 6 and wade vs any keeper that scores runs before the 1st test.

My gut feel is wade just keeps his spot but they go with cartwright over maxwell.

They seem to have convinced themselves cartwright is a 4th seamer, the reality of his bowling ability and smith likely not bowling him more than 2 overs an innings anyway won't get in the way of them thinking he is an allrounder.

he is as much an allrounder as maxwell but try telling our selectors that, i have no issue with him or maxwell at 6 for the ashes but he would be there to score runs and thats it same with maxwell.

Did the selectors care that Mitch Marsh couldn't bat or bowl. I'm not saying that I would pick Cartwright but the selectors will stick with their fantasy.
