A 2nd rounder is way too much to give for Watts imo.
Franklin for Watts straight is the only fair trade.

And we pay Franklins salary...A 2nd rounder is way too much to give for Watts imo.

Mayne belongs in the VFL. Not to mention the wrong player, on the wrong team, on the wrong contract.Hope Watts considers Buckley's treatment of Mayne before making a move to the Magpies. Always felt for him and that could be a pretty terrible move for his career.

There's every chance you're right. He could easily fade off into existence and never be heard from again at one of those crappy clubs. But, Norf would be crazy to take him though because they're several years away from a premiership and he'll be long retired by then.Watts will go to a spud club.
Collingwood but my money is on Norf
I think what we need more than anything is for someone like Heeney to explode as a bonafide star. JPK and Hanners are our two best and most reliable on ballers. Don't get me wrong both are great and i worship the ground they walk on, but they're not freakish talents and they can't really break a game open through sheer ability. Maybe i under-estimated how good Richmond were this year but I still have no doubt in my mind that without Martin they wouldn't have come close to a flag. We have Buddy but he's a forward and it's hard for him to get into games when the supply is limited. Maybe i am just missing seeing Goodes tearing down the wing on a routine basis for us but we haven't had anyone who can take a game by the scruff of it's neck when we need a spark since Goodes in his prime.
There's potential with Heeney given his aerial abilities and how good he is on his feet but he's not there yet. IMO its what we are missing more than anything (unless we can find a way to clone Buddy and make a midfield version of him). Getting Miles orWatts or Liberatore just doesn't really change much in my eyes
Check Heeney after 3 years against danger, dusty, ablett jr etc and see where he stacks up
None were the highest paid players at their club, so none can compare to Lever.Check Heeney after 3 years against danger, dusty, ablett jr etc and see where he stacks up
What's your point? Please remind me where I said Heeney was anything other than a gun? He just isn't at his peak yet which is natural and to be expected.
'My point is he isnt going to explode to this level for a few years and we cant expect a third/fourth year player to be a superstar thats all
Were at least going to get Tod Goldstein. We're not going to end up with anyone other than do a few of them weird pick swaps. We're all hanging off optimism to make us forget about the last 3 weeks haha. Let's be honest come the end of next week it's going to be an anticlimax![]()

On Nexus 6P using BigFooty.com mobile app
Just swap Tippett with Watts.......easy peacy
Which is exactly why i said he's not there yet. But my point is that we're lacking someone of that variety I reckon
Fair enough, a class player yep, but dont see how we get one without giving up someone "highly rated"
Your lateDew gone to GC
