If that's the case so be it, the officers did everything they possibly could in the circumstances to bring him down without lethal force. Vic Police should be very proud of the way those boys dealt with the situation.

ViCPOL did everything they could to stop him before shooting him. Batons and verbals, and then finally shot him after he kept trying to stab them.

The police officer wore a knife slash to the arm/protective vest trying to bring him down without shooting him. That's more than you can ask any police officer to risk to their own safety in that situation.
