Pressure was awful tonight absolutely. It was disposal that killed us though. So many missed handballs, fumbles and kicks turned over. They gave up in the end, they were spread too much by the Pies moving the ball around and were overrun in the last 10.
Tigers hallmark last 18 months been the pressure they have applied.

When that slips a cog they are back amongst the pack.

I just think teams have learnt how to combat Richmond now. The second half of last year was teams inching closer and closer to beating them until a team with actual skill (Collingwood) was able to pull it off in the end.

Doesn’t mean Richmond won’t able to adapt. They have time.
Yeah, definitely too early for those saying season over for Richmond.

It's not like they got pumped by a bottom side either.

25 to 9 free kick counts... show me a team that has won with those stats against them. The holding the ball rule is a joke and in any other sport that type of favouritism would be looked at

While not quite that bad, Hawthorn lost the free kick count 20 to 11 last week, and won comfortably. Tell your players it is easier to get free kicks if they actually lay tackles on their opponents.

If young Steele didn’t handball that ball out at the end of the 3rd, Tigers may have only been 2 goals short going into the last. But then looking across the board after the game and it looks much much much worse.

I'll give you there were a fair few horrible calls, but perhaps... maybe... just by chance... Collingwood's pressure/Richmond's lack of composure resulted in many free kicks being awarded?

Combination,
We were absolutely terrible
Collingwood were way to good
Recipe for disaster.

Nice to see so many sore anooses still so sore. That’s ok. Long way to go in the season.
It's over

Pies have gone way past Richmond

They has gastro go through the club this week not the umpires' fault.

I'm not sure why so many people say this.

I've found Richmond supporters to be very humble since winning the premiership 2 years ago.
You must have lived on Mars for the past 2 years, although your comment obviously tongue in cheek.
Please say it was.

Perhaps. Or perhaps the crowd influenced the umpires? As someone else pointed out 20 frees to 11 Adelaide's way last week. Bet it won't be that way when we play away. Umpires are weak. Give into crowd pressure. Everyone but razor ray that is.
I'd love to see the composition of where Collingwood v Richmond frees were paid because I feel most of ours were on the run sort of thing in the middle of the field while Richmond seemed to get a majority of theirs in their forward line (can count at least 2 gifted set shots).
Also given it was Richmond's home game at the MCG you'd think the crowd would be pressuring for either side.

Hardwick initially tried to turn Richmond into Hawthorn. When he finally realised his cattle wasn't skilled enough to implement the Hawthorn playing style he moved to the high pressure game plan that won them a flag. it was a great coaching adjustment at the time, however when the pressure drops you are left with the skill baseline, which isn't high enough to win games against good teams.

I'll give it that there were a few head scratchers paid to the blokes in Black/White, though from my perspective (albeit perhaps a biased one), we received most of our frees from fast moving passages of play in to holding the ball (shocking interpretation of HTB by umpires tonight, cost Tigers a lot of the ball and costed us a goal at HT).

In the end, it's Round 2, paddocks of time to learn from this game and far too early to read anything about finals.

Just listening to 3aw online to hear a grandmother just report a 17 year old Richmond supporter spat on her at Fulltime because she was singing the Pies song

That’s who The Germball and Captain Bedwetter left us to play for. Just disgraceful.
Glad they are gone and gladder they both have gone backwards down there. Back to enjoying the beautiful GC.

You are right when we apply 30 tackles we are vulnarable to losing a game. Is any other team different?

Wait, how is it an insult?

Doesn't it mean , "Bloke who decides to change teams to the one that just beat yours in a grand final, then watch your team win 2 flags n a row without you, including one against yourself, while your team seems unable to win a flag, while at the same time you eat up a big portion of the salary cap , allowing a future Brownlow medalist to be forced to head to your old club"? To use in a sentence,. "Gee, Lynch might have pulled a buddy there".
