I can see it now, we win this week. Brad is vindicated for the decision and then we get completely bitch slapped the next week. Up and down we go on the rollercoaster season that'll plod us in no man's land on the ladder.

I've just about had it if this turns out to be the case.

But what if we lose

The thing that troubles me is that Tom's inclusion appears to be yet another defensive reactive move.

Didn't he say after the game that the forwards movement and running patterns were the issue so he drops a mobile forward for a tree? Am I reading this right?

Campbell wouldn't be playing if Daw was available. This was unforeseeable.

Really? I expect that if Daw was available it would be Daw in for McKay based on this weeks team. It will be interesting to see how much time he spends forward on the weekend.

Hey folks, let's be a little gracious and get behind Tommy Campbell okay?

I'm sure he's going to have a crack.

If we win this week it won’t be based on anything Scott has brought to the table, it will either be the players have played out of their skins or the Lions have ****ed up.

Having Brad Scott as you coach is handicapping the potential of this club.

We've dropped one of our marking targets. We need someone who can mark inside 50. We've brought in a 28yo ruckman who has never been a forward and almost certainly won't be on list in 2 years.
Bring in Larkey, a promising tall forward, and let McKay do second ruck duties, as he did on debut.

Obviously they believe Campbell is a better marking option than Larkey and Wood. Will this benefit us in the future, no. This weekend, probably.

I hope the big fella has a great game. He certainly had a dip in the JLT.

I think most people are not bemused about Campbell, but how players like Turner, Simpkin, McDonald and McMillan seem to be untouchable, while someone like Ahern, who had form and talent is made to languish in the VFL because Scott wants to teach some ****ing dumbarse lesson to him.

It's impossible to defend the club and Brad.

Finishing 9th in the super draft last year by playing one of the oldest 22 while after the youngest list was a missed opportunity.

Brad will always be Brad. Play slow Campbell who couldn't get a game with a team who didn't have a ruck or forward over a mobile kid who won the Colman in the VFL last year. Campbell's birth certificate is older so he's in.

Brad will always be Brad. Brad plays the delisted Campbell round 2 but the superior but younger Pruess couldn't get a game last year.

Ahern was one of two players last year with a positive centre bounce attendance differential for North. He was the 7th best in the comp. The other is Anderson. We get smashed in centre bounce and we don't bring Ahern in.

We couldn't hit a target by hand or foot to save ourself last week and most weeks for that matter. Ahern is class by hand and foot and we don't bring Ahern in.

We play unskilled guys over Ahern, one of our most skilled players who wins his own ball. Ahern get into great shape, slims down and we don't play him. I don't get it.

Ah, for those long lost happy times of six days ago with all the talk about Polec, Hall and Bailey... We all need to copy the Flagstaff busker and do some breathing exercises. Just make sure nobody’s watching, or... Give the team a chance to gel. Yes, it was horrible to the ‘nth degree but we all know there were extenuating factors. By all means, if we shit it up this week, then all bets are off.

Would kill for Simmo, and if anyone were likely it'd be him.

Other options not so likely would be swooping on Clarko considering his tenure is coming to an end judging by the way he speaks about the future with the club.
Or if we got super lucky, got on board with Sam Mitchell before the prices rise.

Brett Ratten is an option.

Let's be real the club isn't in the dregs like a St. Kilda or Carlton, we're just plodding in the middle going nowhere fast. The infrastructure is now all here, what we need is a strong leader and a general to get the club to focus on winning premierships again.

💯

There will be a couple in the gun this week. LMac & Turner would want to have an impact. Would like to see wood at some stage playing with both Brown and Campbell if Campbell goes ok

No one will be under the gun. Merit based selection is done by other clubs, not NMFC.

LMac will never be dropped, that would mean the club made a recruiting error all those years ago.

I'm glad we got the pre-game melt out of the way, nice and early.

Our crowd is going to be as flat as a shit carters hat at the first bounce on Sunday. The team needs to come out with an almighty BANG if they want to engage us.

No doubt they'll have that dickhead out there with the microphone addressing us all like we're circus animals.

The Scott era is now eclipsing the Laidley era, as one big ******* waste of time.
Can't agree with that. Laids squeezed blood from a heavy, chipped, and moss covered stone which arguably helped to save the club.

Scott has... Well, I would say our list is infinitely better. And a lot of non-gameday things have improved DRASTICALLY, but not sure how much of that is because of Scott. We've pretty much been mid-table with Scott the whole time. Treading water. Basking in the fact we still exist and rarely looking like trying to reach for more (other than in puff pieces and 3-4 games a season where we play like we are the best in the comp). I used to really like Scott. Often had issues with his selection policies and some of his tactics, but the players clearly seemed to like him and he seemed respected in the industry. But we haven't achieved ****ing dick with him and he doesn't seem to be ****ing improving as a coach. Urgh.

For those interested Ahern was "serviceable" but completely flat after missing selection.
Of course he ****ing was. And what was he playing in last week? A ****ing VFL PRACTISE match. I mean, he'd want to play his best to impress and continue good form, but that game is a ****ing nothingburger. You aren't going to be able to work on any team related skills because 80% of the blokes you're playing with are from the VFL, and the last thing you would want is to pull a ****ing hammy chasing down some richmond seconds nuffy in the most meaningless match of any career ever.

Fair ****ing dinkum. Did Ahern actually do something out of line and is being punished? If so I can understand, but tell us ffs, we don't need specifics just say 'Internal suspension based on a one off situation' or something and leave it at that. Because as I see it the alternative is literally that Brad is too ****ing EMBARRASSED to bring Ahern back in and is using a 'flat performance' to justify that Ahern needs to work on things and his original exclusion. Of course he needs to work on things, but did anyone see last weeks match? Everyone in the ****ing squad needs to work on things. You know what Pauly doesn't need to work on? Being a smart ****ing player getting the hard ball and delivering it like ****ing silk. Half the squads deficiencies from last week would have shrunk significantly if he was there getting first or second use and moving the ball on.

****ing hell...

10 years thus **** head has been coaching North and in still doing the same dumb stuff as when he started PLEASE **** OFF BRAD SCOTT!!! You have been a waste of time ..

Another good reason for not being there.

Good thing Beams left Brisbane, otherwise he would 30 and 5 on Sunday, wait till we play Collingwood however.

I'm already having nightmares about that!
