Heard reports of guys getting taped on the shoulder from security last night for being too loud, vocal, etc

This game has gone to absolute **** on every level

The rule changes, PC ********, crowds and the love affair with the bookies

Won’t be going to another game this year and even lost interest with the game this year

Right on mate. Completely agree.

How would you feel if you'd planned all week to go to to a game. You plan your whole day around what time you need to leave for the game. You catch a packed train into the city. Stand in line for 10 mins to get in. Another 5-10 mins to get to your seat. Minimum $10 for food. A few beers is what? $25-$30? You're into the game cheering on your team, not swearing, not baiting opposition supporters, not bagging out players, you're just really into the game and some miserable pos goes and tells security you're carrying on and swearing in front of their kids so you get booted out before half time. Faaaark that. No way I'm going to the footy this year.

Any sad sack of sh*t that's team's losing, out of spite, can go up to security and make up some totally bogus story about you swearing, being abusive or whatever the hell they want and potentially get you kicked out of a game. Hell, I'd be offended and in a sh*t mood for the rest of the game if security so much as approached me over a bogus complaint because now everyone in the vicinity is keeping an eye on you and waiting for you to do or say anything that could be construed as "anti-social behavior". Public shaming is a terrible way to make a point. Few situations warrant it.

If a complaint is made security should simply stand near the supposed offender for a couple of minutes so they can see and hear for themselves if the person is acting inappropriately before taking any action.

Some dumb person tipped a perfectly good drink from the level above as well!!!
If it was a beer served at the footy it isn't a perfectly good drink

They've quite literally been doing this for years. I'm not sure what the fuss is except for when they kick people out for petty stuff. The walking the aisles isn't a big deal.
Happening more frequently and the tolerance is much lower

And what constitutes "actual evidence" to you btw? It HAS been noticeable to a whole bunch of people that have gone to the footy this week so far...have u been reading the thread?
Wasn't noticeable to me, in fact where I was sitting if anything there was less than normal, but I really couldn't be sure because I don't look for it. I think that poster who mentioned confirmation bias is right.

Someone also mentioned they sit near that Hawk cheersquad bloke who was on the news, and that they have seen him being chatted to by security numerous times, it's not a new thing for him, it's just the camera showed it this time.

The facts won’t matter from here on out. The perception now, right or wrong, is that the AFL is callously cracking down on supporters. And it will be a hard one to reverse. This has real potential to damage footy.

Will be interesting to see how it plays out.

I'm going to our game vs Brisbane next week.

I like to yell things at Jack Billings when he messes up.

Pray for me.
