Being present. A leader has to be seen to be present at all times.

Doesn't mean doing photo ops at the scene of the disaster, but it means being seen to be present at all times, even if that's just giving daily pressers from PH or even the Lodge or Kirribilli House.

You don't get much sleep when you're the leader of a country. You don't get many holidays. Sorry, that's the deal if you want the top gig, Scotty. Did nobody mention that as you bullschitted your way to the top?

Some of the State premiers who’s government were actually in charge of the bushfire response also went on holidays, but the same people who bagged Scotty said that was ok because they didn’t go to Hawaii. But they weren’t seen, they weren’t leading, they were spending time with their families over Christmas like most Australians.

Create a national firefighting fleet to help combat the fires.
But that would have cost $20m dollars!

(Let's ignore the $46m he gave Hillsong)

So he was supposed to be putting together this national firefighting fleet in the week before Christmas from scratch? Yeah, that sounds plausible. 🙄

Fact was the Federal government had been providing support the entire time, Scotty had been out there regularly and it had been dragging on for months and like the people fighting the fires, he was entitled to a holiday as well.

It was just a typical overblown storm in a teacup to get everyone riled up to blame the PM because the bush was burning!
was he back from hawaii holding a hose by then?

He had over a year since the election to put things in place, instead he doled out money to his donors and did nothing as per usual.

They have not been providing support the entire time, It took outrage from the nation to get him off his fat arse (guy is slave to PR) then he got rejected from the places he visited because they hate his guts and they know he abandoned them before, during and after the bushfires. They still have not had funding 12 months after it.

Hey look, the Hillsong work experience kid has been asked to fill the interwebs with bushfire distractions.

Morrison surely knows he is ****ed when he is using his own failures as distractions - lol

What was stopping him putting it together between the NSW fires last January and the recent fires in WA?

$500m to the Great Barrier Reef Foundation
$80.5m on a postal survey
$1.2b for Robodebt
$30m for land that cost $3m
$80m for water buy backs

Don't worry though this is the party of financial responsibility.

What about the Covid app? Nobody mentions that anymore.

You're living in fairy land.
1: If there is a war, the leader of the country is likely to be somewhere even safer than his Generals.
Still present though. Constantly talking to the people, even if only over the radio (old days) or TV (today).

Going on holidays and having your office repeatedly lie about your whereabouts? Nup.

Late May 2019 - Early September 2019 is over a year? Wow, strange world you live in

The ADF was providing support by October at the latest and when everyone was complaining he was in Hawaii and had not been out there providing support he had already made multiple trips to the fire ground and incident control centres before leaving.

But yes when he made further trips in January some dumb bogans rejected him because they wanted him to increase funding to the NSW RFS. Well, if that’s the intelligence level of people you want to use for your propaganda then go right ahead. Makes it even more laughable the posters in here trying to claim their fellow left leaning voters are the smart ones and anyone who votes LNP is dumb. Evidence suggests otherwise.

Fine. Throw the book at them. The name of this thread is Scott Morrison.

The recommendations only came out in October last year and they said if the states fire services want it, they do it.

But doubt it would have made any difference in WA, given there were no fires anywhere else they’d have had all the resources of the country at their disposal if required.

I believe when all the legal costs and victim compensation is included, plus the failure to claw back any money at all, the shortfall from the original projected earnings was more like $4bn.

The entire Dutch government just resigned over something very similar. Here? Not a single resignation.

They rejected him because he lied to them, he abandoned them and knew he was there for PR, not actual support. They know Scotty is not their mate and not a leaders a-hole.

You have gone straight to the strawman arguments.

There is a long list of what the LNP has done in the last 8 years, If you are so smart then anwser every single point.

If one of the LNP ladies crossed the floor right now, it would get real interesting

It's not going to go down well in WA or anywhere when Reynolds (an otherwise competent Minister) has to take the fall for Scotty because she "Never told him".

So it'll be a competent woman to take the fall (in addition to the victims) because of the incompetence, neglect and misogynistic nature of the Hillsong Happy Clappers of the party. What a splendid Political Party, I bet they're all proud of themselves.

Coincidentally, the happy clappers are trying to take over the Victorian branch of the party and disappear down a rabbit-hole never to emerge. Pretty upset that the completely incompetent and almost transparent Keven Andrews got the boot.

Those were the big ones off the top of my head. Also got the 'grants' to Foxtel, rorting of the COVID19 stimulus, $423m Paladin contract, opening Christmas Island for a photo op.

"Budget Emergency"

"Budget Emergency"
Remember when we had a debt and deficit disaster? You don't hear about that any more since the LNP have been in charge and doubled our national debt.

There's at least shiny mugs out there with "Back in Black" on them so it's all good.

It could be easily fixed if they taxed their mining mates and other big companies.

But they would rather * over the people over their donors.

“I’ll only shake your hand when you give more money to the RFS” Poster girl for the left claiming everyone hates Scotty
