A ton on debut says it all. Showed the resilience and mental stamina needed for a future Australian Test player. Early days for Ashley.. still in nappies. Needs to keep scoring runs, dont change a thing technically and for god sake ignore scribes describing him as "phenomenal".

Australia is starting to build a promising list of next gen Test batsmen. Will Pucovski? Tim Ward, Henry Hunt, Bryce Street, Josh Philippe, Teague Wyllie now Ashley Chandrasingh. Early days for the latter pair but both certainly possess natural talent. Add those to the established Marnus Labuchagne and Cameron Green and the Baggy Greens could have quite a formidable top 6 within five years.

Wondering if the curators mixed up the T20 and shield pitches? 🤷‍♂️
This game looks headed for a draw with the weather forcast not the greatest.

Perhaps shield games 1st innings should be closed after 100 overs. Can not see them being changed to 5 day games.
Tassie might be in with a sneaky chance if they get 150 in front and declare.

I agree about compulsory declarations.
With no first inning points for a win these days, makes sense to me.

Sides batting first for 5 and 6 sessions kill the game IMO.

Tassie finish the third day well on top. Have they left their run for victory too late?

18 wickets in 3 days. With a kid coming off a ton in next and a bloke with over 500 runs in 4 innings after him. Well on top is hyperbole.

It’s a very good day for a state like Tassie, they wouldn’t be used to being on top after 3 days so let them enjoy it.

The rookies blocking may come in handy, as will the weather.

Our Test boys should be playing these few matches and on challenging decks to prepare them for a sh*t hard next 9 months of Test cricket. But what are they doing, most are smashing balls and bowling freebies in T20. If they were not going to play Steve Smith why the hell wasnt he released to play for the Blues.

Tigers wont like looking at this forecast after moving themselves into a position of strength. Almost certainly a draw now as boring Vics have shut shop for second time in the game..

They've taken 8 wickets in 170 overs, and you think they're going to get another 9 in realistically 60 overs at most? They need to have us 3 down at lunch and 6 or 7 down at tea to be any chance at winning.

I'm hearing you but they're not going to release players who are in the squad to play Shield.

Inglis and Agar have been pretty much warming the pine for over a year now.
