Yes. Dare the selectors take a gamble on Morris for the first series of the summer. Reckon he'd be dynamite on both the lively Perth Stadium and dewy Adelaide evening decks.

I wouldn’t have him anywhere near the test team

But while the white ball stuff is happeneing - it would be great development to have him in the nets against the Aussie batters

Good for him - and good for them given they’ll be facing similar speeds from Nortje et al

Tell me why?

Because he's had barely a handful of good games.

Neser, Steketee, Boland and even Richardson when fit are ahead of him.

He's a good prospect and if he can continue to develop (as he appears to be doing) - he's a ripping prospect.

Philippe was being talked up after a handful of good games last year.

Put in a season and a half of performances to show it's sustainable.

Because he is behind:
Cummins
Hazlewood
Starc
Boland
Nesser
Richardson
Steketee

in the pecking order.

You can't have 23 players in the XI. You seem to have every second shield player as a likely test prospect.
There is one thing Morris has over all those bowlers

and thats pace ....as I have said previously any shield attack will be able to do the job against the windies...if the selectors where bold its a perfect opportunity to have the fastest bowler in the country bowl on the fastest wicket in the world

All those bowlers above will do the job against the windies

the argument of Morris playing the first test is not a bad one

Yes but not Steketee I would rate morris over him

Yes Westie we had him coming of age as a red ball batsmen last season.. at least I did off the back of a couple of patient and match defining knocks. He just cant seem to get off the blocks this season. We know he has talent, has to start producing it more consistently if he wants a Baggy Green.
Really think keeping in the first class format has stuffed him up

He is great in the white ball format and is on the cusp of selection so thats fine keep there

But his first class has gone downhill hopefully with Inglis back with the gloves phillipe can concentrate on his batting

It's not the fastest wicket in the world and the idea that he would be close to contention, with Australia's fast bowling riches, is ridiculous.

Buckingham can't come out at 9 down so it's all over. Time for SACA to fold or merge.

Big win by the boys from the West. A formidable bowling attack when Jhye Richardson is leading them yet they always seem to have one bowler step up when he is absent.

Missed the first session of todays game as my area had a power outage. Probably when a tree fell on power lines from extremely gusty winds battering Sydney.

Well yes it is

when you have a lad that bowls 150 plus....the selectors take notice
My point precisely. Was Brett Lee better than Gillespie, Kasper and one or two bowlers of that era. No but he had that x factor.. extreme pace. Lance Morris has it also and is now learning when to crank it up and when to tone it down. Above all he is a more accurate bowler at pace than last season. His economy bears out that while his strike rate may only have dropped fractionally.

Thommo excited us all. Brett Lee never excited me. Lance Morris does and betting the selectors too. You said selectors needed to be 'bold'.. I said 'take a gamble' on the 'fastest bowler in the country on the fastest deck'. And he is in form, 22 @18.8, strike rate an imposing @31.

We went from 1/161 batting first to an innings loss. Impressive really.
Batting is your problem.. obviously. Time for the permanent removal of Lehmann and a look at Tom Kelly. perhaps, Bailey Capel or Kyle Brazell. Having said that, what has Jake Carder done wrong. #6 has to be occupoed eother by a specialist or a competent all rounder. Liam Scott does not fit the bill @ 18.9 bat , @ 44 ball. Heck dont mind betting Nathan McAndrew tops that.

Carder is about to turn 27, and averages 27 at FC level. The very model of inconsistency.

He's pretty much everything that is wrong with SA cricket.

McAndrew should be in the side imo, I know he's had a very dry start to the season wickets wise but he's a very solid number 8 if not 7. He comes in next game for Buckingham anyway.

What has Jake Carder done right is the appropriate question, sorry but he's crap I'd rather Lehmann in the side. I'm a huge Kelly fan and a bit perplexed as to how he hasn't played a game yet this season.
