I know I'm repeating what many think, but sheesh, can't help but feel like he is an extremely obvious go home player.

Will be watching him closely, hopefully his development is great and we have another trade target in a couple years.

Playing for the worst club in AFL history, to empty stadiums Vs coming home to his father's club, his home state and his favourite team, to play in front of a packed AO singing NTUA every game.

I reckon he's a huge chance to come back.

With all his mates from WWT.

Look forward to a pic of him sleeping in his Saints guernsey.

Cal Twomey had a big night. Was correct with picks #1 thru to #11.

He said Fletcher would be bid on at 17 but he was bid on at 12.

Got the player and club right for;

WB Jedd Busslinger at 13 he said 12
WCE Elijah Hewett at 14 he said 13 Edit My bad he had another WA player Ed Allan there, and Hewett at WCE's next pick
Mel Matthew Jefferson at 15 he said 14

Said Sydney would bid for Michalanney but with their 2nd pick tonight not their 1st pick.

He said GWS would take Konstanty with their 2nd pick tonight (started at 14 before bids) but Sydney stuffed that up by bid on GWS academy player Rowston, and Sydney took Konstanty with their 2nd pick tonight. The kid will now be living 20kms closer to the Pacific Ocean.

GWS had picks 21 tonight and 22 tomorrow, he said GWS would take Darcy at 22 but they took him tonight with 21. He had Brayden George at 21.

I'm not a draft watcher. Of the guys listed above, who do people most want?

Lachie Cowan. Won't happen the Swans will take him.
Lewis Hayes. Theres a chance if he gets past the Bulldogs. He's a 3-4 year project who's made it clear he wants to come to Port. Do clubs want to put that kind of time into a player who is likely to head here the first chance he gets?
Henry Hustwaite. Should have gone mid teen? Been rated about that mark all year and the cheaper he gets the more I like him. We could let him settle in defence or put him on a wing and eventually move him into the middle.
Lemmey. An absolute punt. Could very easily be the kind of player we wished we'd picked up if you put this season down to illness and bad luck. Could be a bust. Happy to take a punt.

I have a feeling we’ll pick Keeler if he’s there. He, Burgoyne, Pickett and Wanganeen-milers all trained together over the off season. Wouldn’t surprise me if we are trying to bring them all together over the coming years

Bulldogs are on the hunt for small forwards so they may grab George after bidding on Davey ( Dunkley payback).

Just in case I missed the torture that was the AFL Draft, FOXTEL repeated the whole saga at least twice!!! It is probably not the case but I cannot help but feel that the Draft is a stage managed exercise tied to the TV rights deal. Took a quick peek to see who went at no1 and the club honchos looked like a convention of lance corporals in those official looking shirts.

Only another 15 picks before we get a crack at it.

100% stage managed. Why did it take Brisbane 5mins to match a bid on Ashcroft?

It was pretty funny how the on-screen display was announcing the trade and FS bids whilst some 18 year old with no media training or presences was being interviewed by King - no hit on the 18 year-old, but did they really need to interview all of them?

Also Cats waltzing in on Jhye Clark, giving up nothing to do so, drives me nuts
Come on mate that's not fair, they clearly gave up salary cap space, you can tell because they lost all their high paid players like Cameron, Dangerfield, Hawkins.

The reigning premiers were able to take a salary cap dump and restructure it to not be a salary cap dump, whilst keeping all the players they pay in brown paper bags anyway, and then get a reasonable player AND a free first round pick out of it, and the sport's governing body has said yep, play on - hell I reckon even FIFA would look at that and go "that's a bit much".

I'm glad the Giants took Darcy Jones - I had visions of Darcy Jones and Darcy Byrne-Jones on Port's list.

I find it quite interesting that GWS actually matched. Everyone expected the kid to go later, they must've as well. Then suddenly he's jumped up the order and cost you maximum value. If he wasn't next on their board, they should've said no.

Everyone is saying it was gamesmanship from Sydney, but to me it looks like they actually wanted that kid, because there was every chance GWS don't match and take a kid they think is even better at the very next pick.
