Prediction Collingwood for a 3-peat? Too early?

I'm not sure they get better.
Their main concern is Nick Daicos. He is about to be locked into the most lucrative contract deal of all time. That's going to impact who they can bring in.

Mihocek, Adams, Sidebottom, Elliott are all on the wrong side of 30.
All difficult to replace as we are currently witnessing with Sidebottom and a noticeable drop in midfield quality.

I reckon they replace the other older guys . . . Cox, Hoskin-Elliott & Howe.

Port Adelaide have a better shot at it as their spine is young and they have better key position targets.

The wrong side of 30 like half your side last year?

It is highly unlikely we are about to go back-to-back let alone with three in a row.

30+
Pendlebury, Sidebottom, Cox, Howe, Mihocek, Mitchell, Elliott.

About to turn 30
Hoskin-Elliott, Crisp, Adams.

How many of Port's older brigade are still their best players? Boak and Jonas are probably not in their best 22.
Dixon will effectively be replaced by Lord and they still have Marshall, Finlayson and Georgiades to keep them strong when he retires.

Collingwood is not able to blow away teams and this is significant. It illustrates they are really not far ahead of most challengers. Certainly not blowing away teams like Hawthorn or Geelong were when they were playing in a lot of grand finals.

Ok now do the Geelong list from last year. Also I'm with you and would love 1 flag if we're good enough, not going to get greedy

Teams need a lot of luck for a threepeat, and we have a number of very strong teams emerging/maintaining (unlike the 2016 to 20 era) - Port Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide.

I'll be happy with 3 in the next 5 years.
The fact Geelong won a flag last year, but couldn't in the "16 to 20 era", when their team was younger and better, disproved that theory.

Time for a nice run of premierships at Collingwood.

Was thinking the same with richmond say around 2010 i thinking its a team that look really are due for one.

I feel Collingwood are in the same boat.

Kind of a modern day novelty i guess and nostagla of having Collingwood winning premierships ala 1920s and 1930s.

Kind of good a nice hertiage type feel about it.

Thinking the same when Dees won premiership in 2021 be that a covid flag and played in perth.

I think Collingwood will go on a run in the 2020s but not sure when.

I will me mightly surprised if they dont win a flag either 2023 or 2024.

To me we have the best coach in the AFL.

Time will tell but its only early days.

Uhhh ok. If you think giving up more scoring shots and specialising in close finishes is sustainable long term good luck to you. Relying on the opposition to kick themselves out of it everytime isn't sustainable. They are a good side but im not even convinced they will win one flag

Every time? heck me. 🤦🏼‍♂️

Why are they filtering out the word 'excuse' now?

Anyway, the issues at the pies are being spoken about on programs this week and their inability to put teams away. Wishing it away won't work until we actually see it.
Oh no the knobs in the media think the Pies are cooked. What on earth will we do. 4 weeks ago we were peaking too early. Now were cooked. Hard to keep up. Rather be out of form now than in September

So the team with the highest percentage in the competition is the one that struggles to put teams away?
